  1. Thanks - helpful. I’ll try messing with squelch. I was under the impression though that squelch is binary … meaning I either break it or I don’t? If I didn’t, wouldn’t ATC not be able to hear me at all? I wish my Bravo was wired the same way as yours - if I leave LEMO plugged in and then plug the mic mask in the jack, it was still using/defaulting to the LEMO Bose Mic. I’ll check it one more time if the squelch fixes it when using the adapter, maybe it was just the squelch isssue.
  2. Amazing, thanks for the detail - I may try to get there in the next month or so. Will let you know when we are planning on heading that way, sounds like a great day trip.
  3. Yeah it was touching - I did just try adjusting the mic location by bending the wires to it a bit so it now sits with a bit more "pressure" on my lips - will try again next time, but it was so quiet before I cant imagine that would make that much of a difference? Maybe it would...
  4. I'm having an issue with a new precise flight microphone mask - when I switch to using it and change nothing else with the plane, the mic really doesn't pick my voice up well. It's very quiet to ATC, to my passengers, and in my ear (sidetone did not change). Any suggestions on how to fix this? Just yell when using the mask? Anyone else have this issue? I do also switch from using a LEMO 6 pin when using my Bose A20 mic to a standard mic jack when using the mask. I use an adapter to switch between the LEMO and standard mic jack.
  5. Nice! Thanks for the report, may go check it out soon. Does rafting company come pick you up?

  7. The Whova website won't let me register to watch recorded/the rest of the livestreams. Any chance I can still register so I can access the recorded sessions at least? Was hoping to make it this year as well but it didn't work out either. Thanks for the suggestion Don!
  8. Isn't that redundant? We'll just have to call them Acclaims if there are two of them
  9. Let me know when you're planning on doing it - would love to come learn!
  10. Recently moved to CA - based in Modesto at KMOD. I'm looking to learn more about my Mooney Bravo & engine specifically. Hoping to work with an A&P one day (happy to pay!) to learn how to do a few more things myself ... oil change, spark plug remove/replace & use of borescope, remove/clean/regrease/replace speed brakes, identify engine monitor leads/which cylinder has the analog primary gauge, etc. etc. Nothing crazy hard/complex. I've read & watched a lot of videos, but would feel more comfortable doing it the first time with someone who knows what they're doing! If you know anyone - let me know, I'm happy to fly to meet someone for a day as well. Thanks!
  11. Thanks again Skyland! Had a blast as well - looking forward to the next one
  12. I’ll add another amazing review for Greg - glad he took care of you. He was hugely helpful to me getting me in for a prebuy last summer and made some really great observations and suggestions.
  13. Just curious - what's the proper timing for our Bravos? 20? 25? I'm planning on having this checked next time I'm in the shop.
  14. I’d be interested in seeing this install too. Is it easier to install the max pulse controller up there since you don’t have to run wires from the overhead light switches all the way down to the panel? I am going to have it installed with my new LED recog lights at annual, so I’m curious how your install went & looks!
  15. I have tried - I also installed Tempest Fine Wire plugs at the same time. CHT is no issue. I can’t seem to get TIT under about 1615-1620 though while running LOP, even if I drop RPMs down to 2200. I still have a lot more experimenting to do, would love to get LOP working but also recognize it’s hard with the 540. Was debating getting a surefire mag eventually as well…but want to play with the current setup a lot more first.
  16. That does seem like high CHTs relative to your fuel flow, at least compared to my Bravo. For context, in recent warmer weather flying (OAT 75F or so at cruise), at 29"/2400 I was at about 17.5gph, TIT just under 1600 (usually shoot for 1580 or so) and hottest CHT was 347-350. Cowl flaps fully closed. I spent the time and money to get the GB silicone baffles installed and get turbo GAMIs installed and tuned, and it's made a world of difference. Temps are rarely an issue (other than TIT...which of course always has to be monitored).

  18. Yes! Mike was able to help out
  19. Not yet but I believe we have a plan, pending a few things still
  20. Thanks - shot you a note back!
  21. Before I call a random person, wanted to see if anyone with good Mooney expertise here could help! Need to relocate my Mooney … anyone available to help ferry? It’s ready to go, I just ran out of time this week/weekend with bad weather.
  22. Thanks Jake - I'll ask the avionics shop to confirm it has the correct Aspen ethernet cable as well.
  23. Thanks Ryan, helpful. I do have a "EA100" breaker so I'll pull just that next time this happens and give it a minute or two to boot up and see if that fixes the issue without a full reset. Sounds like my EA100 may be slowly dying as well ... ugh.
  24. I have a similar, but slightly different issue ... have 3x Aspens and a KFC150. I was told by the previous owner to turn the master on first, let the three Aspens fully boot up, and then turn on the radio switch to send power to the KFC150, GNS430Ws, and the rest of the lot. When I turn on the radio, the "A/P AHRS Fail" cat eye light will illuminate and then ~10-15seconds later will turn off only about 25% of the time. If it doesn't, I have to turn everything off (radio & master - leave engine idling usually), and try again, master first, let the Aspens boot, then radio. It usually goes out on the 2nd try, but I've had to do it 3 times more frequently recently. Any idea what could be causing this? Is there a breaker I could pull to reset this without having to do the whole master & radio off process? I've pulled the "Autopilot" and "A/P Alert" breakers but when I push them back in the AHRS Fail light comes on and stays on (though maybe I'm not waiting long enough? Doubting myself now...) Appreciate any help @Jake@BevanAviation or anyone else!
