  1. @Chris B I’m at KDVT with a M20C. If you have any questions or want to come check out my M20C feel free to send me a message.
  2. That was the throttle cable. After replacing the carburetor, the throttle didn’t “feel” right once it was all back together. I wasn’t happy with the way it felt, so the mechanic suggested replacing the entire throttle cable. It’s actually split much more than what is shown. I learned that if it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.
  3. I replaced my carb at annual. Figured I’d go ahead and replace the throttle & prop cable too. Glad I did because I found this: IMG_1483.MOV
  4. I bought my Mooney with 14 hours total time. I thought it would help me get my PPL faster by owning & training in my own plane. I convinced my wife it would be cheaper so she was on board. It took me longer using my own plane than had I rented. It was more expensive using my own plane.Things leak, stuff deflates, random things stop working. Airplane ownership is a whole other learning experience on its own. I’m glad I went through the process now that it’s done but if I were to go through it again, I’d get my PPL first then take my time finding the right airplane.
  5. Mine were replaced all around at annual a few weeks ago. The date code was 1998 so I’m sure they were due. My landings have been smoother but I’ve noticed a little bouncier. You can rent the tools from Lasar & they are not too difficult to replace.
  6. I had that same fuel pressure problem with my new carb.
  7. I’ve been here on Mooneyspace everyday for the past year and finally have a topic I know something about that I can reply to. I bought my M20C almost a year ago as a student pilot with about 14 hours in a Cessna. My first year was around $3500. I just passed my check ride yesterday & was able to get that reduced through Parker. I think Parker is right on the money with his estimate of 3-4K. Luckily he was able to find me a new policy now that I have 100+ hours in my Mooney & my PPL. It’s definitely expensive for the first year as a student pilot in a Mooney.
  8. I met a guy a few days ago who was using “Scratch Off” on his Cessna. I didn’t see the before condition but I did see the after and the windshield looked new. He said it was a multi-step process & takes quite a while but worth it for the end results. http://www.mypilotstore.com/mypilotstore/sep/8416
  9. Do you still have the rear seats?
  10. That was my initial thought but moving the switch up or down doesn’t seem to do anything.
  11. I am a new Mooney owner and and I am still getting familiar with my airplane. I have a switch labeled "Compass Controller" which appears to be a three way toggle. Since I am new to general aviation and aircrafts, I was hoping someone may have an idea as to what this switch does or how it would be used. I attached pictures of the panel. There is such a wealth of knowledge here that I figured I'd ask here.
