  1. I assume from your half of the divorce settlement?
  2. What do you use to lubricate the up lock? I am having problems getting mine to engage. No problem locking down, thankfully.
  3. Sherman, did you replace your G430 with an Avidyne IFD440? if so, how do you like it?
  4. Color temp is 5000K which is cooler than cool white (4100K), but should still preserve night vision (per the discussion in the other thread) if you eliminate the red lenses.
  5. Ventilation is important. Gasoline vapors are heavier than air and will flow to low spots and accumulate. Eliminate any potential sources of ignition!
  6. I have a friend that uses slip on ice spikes for his boots to get good traction on ice.
  7. It is part of the documentation with the 1965 M20C I am in the process of buying. Hope to complete the purchase very soon.
  8. Here is a picture of the 1965 scheme. Interesting the slight changes from 1964.
  9. Phillips 20W-50 was used and about 8 hours and 14 months later the cylinders were pickled. The aircraft has been stored in heated hangers for at least the last 30 years. The engine was overhauled in 1992 and now has about 800 hours.
  10. The engine log only says that the cylinders were pickled. Upper plugs removed and the cylinders sprayed with mineral/preservative oil.
  11. Does anyone know if storing an aircraft (that is not being run) year round in a heated hangar should lessen the likelihood of camshaft corrosion? I’m looking at an M20C that has been stored for 5 years. Cylinders were sprayed with a preservative oil mixture but not the camshaft.
  12. Any other recommendations for a ppi? I emailed Myers Aviations about a month ago to ask if they did Mooney pre-purchase inspections. Their response was no. I also would probably rule out New View, as they just did the annual inspection on the airplane. Thanks.
  13. Any recommendations for a Mooney M20C PPI in the Oshkosh Wisconsin area?
