  1. Another thread at https://mooneyspace.com/topic/51783-ff-dynamic-procedures but no in-depth analysis yet.
  2. They like you!
  3. Sometimes, the insurance company says "yes, we will write coverage, but you won't like the price".
  4. I can easily stay below 18,000, above most of the bumps, get most of the speed, and not be as concerned about oxygen crapping out. As speeds go up, picking up a few knots at a higher altitude doesn't have much of an effect on time enroute.. According to Foreflight, higher may only pick up a couple of minutes on a flight of a few hours. I've had all the excitement I need in this lifetime.
  5. Just got an email from ForeFlight announcing Dynamic Procedures. For those of you that know both systems, is that the same as the new thing from Garmin?
  6. I think that is the best you can do. That’s how the factory gauges are supposed to work.
  7. If I recall correctly (not likely), @PT20J did a nice writeup on the process. Don't try to use the MooneySpace search -- most of the time, it doesn't work very well. You can restrict your favorite browser to do a search on a single site like this site:mooneyspace.com plastic repair
  8. Some underwriters will write "no fly" policies at a substantial discount. Your airplane will be stuck in the hangar, but it may satisfy the loan people as well as the airport for hangar rental. After you complete your certificate, you can add an instructor to the policy and remove the "no fly" provision. Again, our resident expert is @Parker_Woodruff.
  9. There are around 400 million active websites. Any or all of them may have scraped your data from the FAA site, and few, if any, are likely to remove it. That's why we tell our children "once your info is on the Internet, it can never be removed". Nice gesture by the FAA, but essentially useless,
  10. As @GeeBee said above, That button was used on other (later) models by the factory. If Mooney affixed it to an airplane, that makes it official.
  11. So, on the latest models (and now yours), the red override button bulges out from the panel?
  12. I think it's a Whelen part.
  13. Sounds like an adjustment issue.
  14. I think if you say the transaction is non-commercial, you pay a small fee, but nothing is "scraped off" what the recipient gets.
  15. I often turn to the Bennett web site -- they are typically quite detailed and thorough.
  16. It's my understanding, although I can't cite a reference, that the FAA paperwork for 28,000 dwarfs the paperwork for 25,000. Mooney probably lost their appetite for having the highest flying light airplane around.
  17. I doubt it's possible to get outside the aft envelope.
  18. How many Charlie weights are in your tail, and did the new prop allow you to remove any?
  19. I'll be interested to read what @donkaye, MCFI has to say, but I would be surprised if old elastomeric gear discs shrink much, and if the nose is slamming down, it sounds like technique.
  20. What do AP/IA types like for connectors and crimpers? My collection of connectors are mostly automotive, and my crimpers are crap. I am no longer interested in hurting my hands trying to get a good crimp, and I think the connectors and crimpers often go together.
  21. Let's see if one of our more electrically-minded members can comment on this. I don't think all Mooney ammeters are wired the same.
  22. I wonder why the M20R is so much more dangerous and requires such a high degree of pilot skill to avoid crashing? Why so much more dangerous than other Mooney models?
  23. I think the ADSB data showed 102 on short final. Seems fast.
  24. My info is 6 months old -- long time in this business.
