  1. The problem with loading up the parts cannon is that the alternator might be okay. If the new alternator doesn't fix the problem, then you still have to do the troubleshooting. Besides, your mechanic may have a boat payment coming up.
  2. Megs "polish" is pretty tame. The pad may not make much difference.
  3. So both of the caps are 3000 uF?
  4. Somebody send an email to that address, and let us know what happens. I think ole Ed may be pullin' our collective leg.
  5. So you always crank with mixture at ICO -- cold, warm, or hot?
  6. Au contraire, I thought you provided a great response to the OP.
  7. Select the text in the original post that you want to quote, and you get a pop-up button that says "Quote selection". The quoted text is formatted as you see here, and the forum will try to notify the person you are quoting.
  8. I think it depends on multiple factors: 1. who built the engine 2. what parts did the builder use 3. how hard you run them 4. luck 5. probably many others Here is an article from a guy who gets remarkable life from his engines: https://www.savvyaviation.com/the-great-beyond-tbo/
  9. As others have said above, don't hand your logs to anyone. I wouldn't even give them to someone to scan. When I bought my airplane, I immediately scanned every piece of paper that came with it. I was fortunate to receive all the logs clear back to the factory. It used to be fashionable to staple supporting documents into the log pages. I removed each staple, scanned every page and every supporting document, and put it back together just as I received it. The only person who will ever lay their hands on those logs is the next owner.
  10. I can't imagine any amount of weight on the nose or anywhere else in the airplane that would put it back inside the envelope with 110 pounds in the same location as the factory Charlie weights. I also can't imagine that the airplane would be flyable.
  11. Probably from your encoding altimeter. KEA-130a.
  12. I pay a little more than that for 100 mbps, but never get close to that bandwidth. I wonder if Starlink could be used both at home and in the airplane? Would it work up against a window at home?
  13. This is all I have. I didn't look at it. IPC 67 F Schematic.pdf
  14. You already have the best solution: Look at other Bravos.
  15. This is only a guess, but I suspect the demise of the servo may be hastened by exposure to TKS fluid blowing around inside the tail. No way to prove it, and no idea how to mitigate the risk.
  16. I was following this but lost track of the final fix. Did you install the "new" one that came with the airplane when you bought it?
  17. Same, but I don’t know how critical the measurements are.
  18. Equally worrisome is the fact that they can't be replaced at precisely the right position when the TKS leading edges are installed. Or when they are glued back on, perhaps multiple times, after falling off.
  19. I use mine constantly. When I go into a restaurant, I carry the Mini. I have grown to hate the tiny screen and tiny keyboard on my phone. VOIP turns the iPad into a phone. No WiFi or hotspot required.
  20. I have MiraCheck, but I find the UI for building checklists to be incomprehensible. I wanted something with voice controls that wouldn’t proceed to the next item until I said “check” or “skip”. The idea was to be able to communicate with the software with just ear buds and no contact with the iPad.
