  1. Yes I can ship to Deutschland! Just message me your address and I can check the shipping amount. Einen schönen Tag noch.
  2. Awesome, I had heard from them about that. Im actually going to do the install that was suggested with the M20J install. I went back out to the plane today and took the fuel line off and took everything out. I’ll just order two new, short fuel lines with the transducer in between. Just a straight shot. I discussed my plan with my A&P and he said it’ll work good. Sucks to trash a 150hr old Teflon fuel line…. Airplanes…
  3. Yeah I imagine it’s similar to the J model listed above since my E has the IO-360 but the one in that diagram isn’t the EI transducer. Don’t think the 65’ E had official instructions from Mooney or the FAA. If they did, then I probably need to find it. The fuel line going into the fuel servo looks like fun to get to.
  4. Nice! I am doing this same install too and came to the conclusion that 45degree elbows on the inlet and outlet side works the best for placement. I know EI says 90s are not good but 45degree fittings are fine. Their transducer is not a sensitive as the JPI. I’m glad I found this post because it answered my question to mounting it to the footwell. I thought there would be a ton of fatigue on the fittings with the transducer being rigidly mounted.
  5. I have a Garwin engine cluster from my 65' E that is in great condition. Super clear and clean, everything worked great. Just removed today with the wire harness and an oil transducer for Hobbs meter. $250 plus shipping. Also have an EI EGT Instrument (make offer?) that works great!
  6. The logo was made by a fellow Mooney owners wife. She just made it with her Cricut. Find the design you want and pick out any colors you want from a local craft store. Super easy.
  7. Yeah it’s always on when up. Super annoying when trying to use LED lights (went back to regular bulbs) because they are so damn bright at night. I know there are cateye shutters on them but even barely cracked open, they’ll still make you think you’ve been lasered. In transition there are no lights on, just watch the gear window on the floor.
  8. Me too! Actually I just want a great spot to put my cell phone. It normally falls out of my pocket and falls behind the seat somewhere.
  9. I had G5s in my last plane and I installed the GI-275s in this plane. Not trying to talk you into more $$$ but the 275s cover a great deal more for about $1.5-2k more. They essentially can replace your whole six pack. I opted to keep some steam gauges because "it just looks right". I have started this week on installing my EI CGR30combo. That will put everything in front of me and nothing on the copilot side. I'll put an iPad mount over there and glovebox. Have fun!! I wanna see before and after shots!
  10. I agree that the placement of the harness is no bueno. Another reason I left them out. For children they would be ok.
  11. I wouldn't be turned away from a higher time airframe! My last plane had 9600hrs on it and was commenting on by several A&Ps that it was one of the cleanest 1960 Comanches they've ever seen. When I sold it, I had all the inspection panels off the plane for a prebuy. After looking in the engine, he looked inside the plane and couldn't believe what he was looking at. Wrote a check and shook hands. Whole thing took 20mins. My logic is the plane was 62yrs old but averaged 154hrs a year since new! No years of down time to rot, every bolt had been gone through a dozen times over. It's all about how people loved the plane before! My bosses Cessna has 36,000hrs on it. It was a pipeline plane and only had one owner. He's had it for about 10yrs but it's a beautiful 172.
  12. There's just a hole in the trim where the harness post comes out of. Looks identical to the from harness and attaches the same way
  13. I actually don't have pictures of them installed. I have the hardware but when I got the seatbelts rewebbed, I decided not to do the rear shoulder belts. If my seat was fixed I would've put them in but I have the folding rear bench seat. All those extra belts made it a mess back there and hard to fold the seat down. In my opinion it's a requirement to have the front seat shoulder belts, they'll save your life. The rear seats don't seem to be as much of a requirement.
  14. Here’s a couple pictures of how they attach. I told someone on here that I’d send them photos but then forgot. Since I had to take out my interior today to get started on my engine monitors, I was able to take a couple pictures. Hope this helps.
  15. Surprised this hasn't sold immediately. The sidewinder is amazing and simple to use. I even take it to Oshkosh, makes moving the plane on grass a breeze.
  16. The E is a little hot rod! Fun to fly, great handling and a great two seater (with lots of bags/camping gear). Three is ok and four adults, never gonna happen. If you think you'll need to load four adults, buy a Comanche 250/260. I miss my 250 because it could take 4adults and enough fuel for at least 4hrs. My E only has 900lb useful so about 350lbs less than my 250 had. They say the E is a great retirement plane, and I agree 100%. Now that we are empty nesters(not retired), I thought it'd be a perfect plane but Something weird happened. Rather than taking family trips, we find ourselves wanting to take other couples along.
  17. Nope. This is 100% on the controller if the aircraft was IFR. If I descend an aircraft and clip a class D in my airspace without getting the transition approved, that's all on me. I have tons of restricted airspace where live firing is going on too. If I descend an aircraft into them, guess what? It's not on the pilot. It's all the same. Also the reason I file IFR into unfamiliar areas, because airspace melts away.
  18. So cool that I spent as much as a cheap car on these screens. And people are trying to talk me into buying another -275 for an engine monitor. At least I have another digital AI that doesn’t need a bunch of updates (thanks Uavionix). I noticed that I got a bunch of alerts when I tried to update the most current databases and something messed up. Super frustrating Garmin, get your sh#t together.
  19. My 65' has a different kind of door on top. It's stuck in the open position. The knob has friction but doesn't do anything to the door. You also cannot push the door closed, so I gets cold in winter flying. I get to finally do this "mod" too! Yay
  20. Nice! Glad your plane is getting out of the shop. I was getting mad for you! Every time I walked in there I would shake my head and feel my blood pressure rise. Hope it was worth the wait.
  21. True, but I already have two GI-275s. The pair of CGRs will display more information than a single 275. The Garmin is more difficult to install and cost more to get all the options. Panel space is not a problem. The engine monitors will be neatly installed on the pilot side, copilot side will be totally blank. Maybe I'll put a glove box in...
  22. I've been helping a fellow mooney driver install the CGR30P to his already installed CGR30C and I like how EI has everything laid out. Instructions are very clear and no pinning out anything. We came up with good plan on the Fuel Flow transducer but his is a carbureted C-Model. My E seemed to be a little more cramped on the pilot side with the exhaust hanging lower in the cowl. Does anyone have pictures of their E Model Fuel Flow mounting locations? I believe JPI's FF mounting has the same requirements so I guess it's not system specific. Thanks!
  23. Man, I always thought that plane looked so sleek! I actually like the front end. To get 189kts at 8000ft is almost as impressive as the 28mpg it gets at 160kts. If you had the 88gal Monroy tanks you could go 1500nm with IFR reserve at 189kts or go 2000nm @ 160kts.
  24. I enjoy your videos too. Pretty surprised it hasn't sold yet. I think this looks like a great deal. Good luck and looking forward to the next plane!
  25. Thanks, I'll check to see if it's compatible with my setup. I'd like to get a spinner to strip down and polish.
