For the ones that run LOP, how hot do your EGTs usually get? And how hot is too hot for them?

Did you say you have wingtip LED recognition lights? Are those the same as the regular incandescent recognition lights found on the newer Mooney's? If so, what do they look like and where did you find them? I am very interested in these for my J.

Is their any decreases in brightness with them all synced together? I had read somewhere that they're not as bright as if they flash individually. Was curious what you thought since you have them all synced together. I have the same lights but none are synced at the moment.

Will syncing the LED strobes decrease the overall brightness of each light compared to if they are not synced and flash individually?

Will the pen holders fit in our Mooney ash trays?

Fixed it. The field wire became un-crimped from the terminal so I reconnected it and all works well.

Great thanks! I will look at that. Is the field wire easily recognizable among the other wires?

So last night while flying, the low volts annunciator started flashing along with a discharge on the ammeter and a reading of 12 volts on the voltage display. Running through the checklists and attempting to reset the alternator field via the circuit breaker led to no changes. Maybe a loose connection on some of the wires? Going to go out to the hangar and pull the cowling to see if anything is obvious. If it is the alternator, what are some good brands to put on and what should I avoid? I currently have a Kelly Aerospace ALY-8520R alternator that was used from the previous engine 400 hours ago. So not sure how much time is on this particular unit but how long should these alternators last? Thanks guys!

My mechanic was able to do all the work from underneath the panel. I was surprised honestly, but it all worked out fine.

Agreed on the OSU hangars...can't justify the cost for a hangar that I can get the same thing for $200 for only a 20 min drive. I'm sure they'll be nice though.

Also we all do need to have a get together or Mooney fly-out...seems like a lot of us in this area. Took a trip yesterday up to KPCW and ate at the restaurant diner on the field. Very nice place and a quick flight in our birds.

Yeah it was Fernando's previously. Unfortunately due to work I won't be able to attend the homecoming this year but maybe next year! I have not seen that documentary...I need to check that out!! Thanks for sharing

Hi Guys! Relatively new Mooney owner here...been meaning to post an intro for a few months now. Picked up my new-to-me J model back in May and absolutely love it! Some of you may have seen it on here with the previous owner. It's an immaculate, low-time aircraft. I keep it in Columbus, OH, so if any of you are from that area, let me know! I'm on this site quite a bit, but still learning more and more about Mooney's so I may not be the first to jump in to answer a question on here.
