  3. Was flying back into upstate NY on clear day. Weather was forecasted to have a possibility of scattered clouds at 2k near my arrival time. As I got close to my destination airport, I could see what appeared to be a layer of clouds moving in from Lake Ontario and headed towards my airport. As I begin entering the pattern, I could tell the "cloud" was actually a fog bank and was headed towards the departure end of my landing runway. As I lined up for final, the bank was closing in on the other end of the runway. I touched down and on my roll out I met the fog bank at mid field. I stopped completely in it and on a 50 foot wide runway I could not see the runway lights I turned on to full. I had to shut down on the runway and had someone walk out to me to help pull the plane to a taxiway. It was almost like a scene from the movie "The Fog". By far the strangest weather I have encountered.

  4. 16574, Completely agree, was just wording it Eastwood fashion.(Dirty harry,"a mans gotta know his limits") I was absolutely inferring utilizing proper ADM when I made that statement. Im guessing that my ipad with access to radar, gps, center, and the mtn top awos stations make passage much easier than say, 50yrs ago. The fact the pic is ultimately in charge is a given. Also all JMHO, and a 600hr one at that! Go ahead, throw tomatoes! Happy Holidays everyone, I really enjoy this forum, almost as much as my mooney.

  6. I was thinking through bolt or ,maybe a cylinder base Oring. Do they have a problem leaking too? The leak is not a huge deal, but I can't handle when something on a plane is not just right. I am not going to break the engine down to fix this. It was just done 370 hrs ago. Sense the oil consumption is unchanged, I may be pouting about something that's not that big of a deal.

  7. I agree the "C" model is the best bang for the buck. All else being equal, avionics, engine times, overall condishion. The C will cost less to aquire (less than half of a 201), and is cheaper to maintain.
