Buster1 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 What's going on Controller? The same plane is listed twice, once by Owner, another time by All American...for two grossly different prices? Makes me glad I didn't buy it off the first guy for $15K more. http://www.controller.com/listingsdetail/aircraft-for-sale/MOONEY-M20K-231/1982-MOONEY-M20K-231/1148024.htm http://www.controller.com/listingsdetail/aircraft-for-sale/MOONEY-M20K-231/1982-MOONEY-M20K-231/1166550.htm Quote
KSMooniac Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Well, the more expensive ad was listed on 1/18/2010, and it could be that the owner needs to move the plane quickly and decided to swtch brokers to AAA, and they listed it at a better price to sell it faster. That would be my best guess. Looks like a pretty decent plane! Quote
PTK Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 I would stay away from aircraft dealers. Thet are worse than used car salesmen. I had a very bad experience with one in Texas. You will be better off negotiating directly with seller. Quote

Carl S Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 My guess is that the good people at AAA saw the original listing and were able to talk the owner into a more reasonable price. I did a Vref on this particular bird and came up with something like $111000. That does not take into accound nice to haves and things that the AOPA Vref tool just does not have settings for. Once the original owner saw logic in AAA's argument he either consigned with them or sold it to them. Now AAA gets to make a bit of profit for selling at a much lower than original asking price. If I had moved faster - I might have been able to buy it instead. Quote

Mcstealth Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Slightly drifting comment here. I called in on AAA unanounced. The sales staff was out on appointment but the office manager brought me in (Gated area) and let me tour what was in the hanger, and was most accomodating (sp?). Their facility was clean and well organized and the hardware on the floor was clean and ready for new owners. FYI and FWIW David Quote
RJBrown Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 This was one of the overpriced planes that was on the market over a year ago. Proof that it was overpriced? It is still for sale. Some of these planes are listed just so the husband can tell the wife, I am trying to sell it. Serious sellers SELL. Quote
