Hey guys, do your cowl flaps stay anywhere you set the knob? Or does it creep? If you are crusing on a hot summer day and want to keep the cowl flaps creeped 1/4 way, do they stay there for you or do you have to keep adjusting them?

Mine on an '84J are either full open or closed. There is no intermediate position that can be set and the flaps will remain set there.


You can adjust them from "closed" to "in trail" by not pulling the control knob fully closed.


You can adjust the linkage to maximum and that will leave the flaps loose when fully closed, increasing air flow.
