jetdriven Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 Quote: ScubaSteve Also they didn't catch the prop wasn't giving 2700 rpm during static run up... Was only 2500 rpm.. A quick adjustment on my part.. But I have no idea what they were doing... Quote
richardheitzman Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Hey dont be knocking on the seatbelts! If there is no TSO tag, then they are not seatbelts, they are just pieces of nylon holding you into the seat. Old worn out seatbelts will get you killed if they fail when you most need them. Frank did great in checking them out. Most service centers dont even look at the belts. Congrats on the new (to you) plane. Air Mods is a great shop and they do a great job in taking care of vintage Mooney aircraft. Tell them I said hello the next time you are in there. Quote
jetdriven Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Skip the cylinder and tail AD which can definately kill you, and focus on broken sunvisors and missing seatbelt TSO tags. I know where I am taking my plane next year. Quote
ScubaSteve Posted May 31, 2012 Author Report Posted May 31, 2012 Quote: jetdriven Steve, check your tach with an optical unit before adjusting the governor. Mechanical tachs can be inaccurate and the RPM really is at 2700. Don't be so concerned with 2700 RPM static. It should be 2700 RPM in flight though. Quote
