My voltage fluctuates from 14.2 to 14.8 on my EDM730. I’m also seeing my old ammeter twitching.  Any advice? I’m suspecting voltage regulator or alternator. I almost want to install a capacitor to smooth it out. Unfortunately, I’m unable to upload video. Chris

Check the field wire connection and other connections at the alternator, the firewall, circuit breaker and regulator (assuming you have an alternator), for security and corrosion.

100% what @EricJ said.  It’s likely that the vr and alternator are fine but you have a loose or corroded contact.  Check the connections at the alternator first.

In my Mooney it was the master switch. The terminals were loose in the body of the switch. But the problem can be anywhere in the field circuit.
