A few  more details are in order. Where are you located, what plane do you have, what type of work do you need? There are plenty of capable shops between the two airports. But if you're looking for an independent, Mooney experienced A&P to come to you, the list is very short.

I wish you were available. Finding a good, local shop with the exception of Premier is very difficult down here.

Depends on what you want to get done...

50/100 hour inspection vs. annual and air-frame related repairs or upgrades

I'm in the same boat you are in based out of North Perry. I trust a local shop to do engine related work and minor air-frame jobs like replacing the fuel senders but as far as a detailed annual or Mooney specific items I plan to fly to Cole Aviation in north Georgia. Cole has serviced my plane for the past few years prior to my ownership and from my little experience with them and the word on the street is they are pretty top notch.

I used Carters at KSEF for the annual on my Acclaim. Roger Smith is a good guy and does great work will go back.
