KSMooniac Posted June 28, 2022 Report Posted June 28, 2022 I doubt anyone would ever want to install one of these systems into a Mooney, but perhaps some folks might need spare parts? I'm installing the newer vent system with the dorsal fairing intake and eyeball vents in the headliner, so I don't need any of this. I've got plenum pieces in decent condition, pop-up scoop, cable, ratcheting thingy for the knob, a drain tube (had to cut it into 2 pieces), and most importantly, the circular vents and plastic louvers in great condition. I'm thinking the 4 vents/louvers are worth $100 for all 4. The rest are up for offers! I may have headliner pieces available later... I don't want to let those go yet until I have my newer pieces installed. Sent from my LM-V405 using Tapatalk 1 Quote

dominikos Posted June 29, 2022 Report Posted June 29, 2022 any pointers for what you replaced it with? one of the items on the long todo list Quote
KSMooniac Posted June 29, 2022 Author Report Posted June 29, 2022 I'm retrofitting the later J system from my '81 salvage plane. It has the NACA scoop on the dorsal fairing, plenum + 2.5" pipe in the tail cone, a plenum on the hat rack bulkhead, and 4 hoses to eyeball vents in the headliner. Straightforward, but a lot of labor! It helps having the donor parts/plane all together so I can see exactly how it should work, and use it for templates to locate things. I patched the hole in the cabin roof where the pop-up scoop was too. I'm not finished yet, but making steady progress. I'm also hiding my new 406 ELT antenna under the fairing per the Mooney SB.
