jkb458 Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Flew from Jackson Co airport (19A) to St. Simons Island (KSSI) today at 9500' MSL. The winds were very kind... I just wish flightaware.com had been updated.

jlunseth Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 I came back from the Bahamas via KFPR (Ft. Pierce, FL), KGAD (Gadsden, AL), and KCOU (Columbia, MO) to Minneapolis (KFCM). Going the wrong way. I'll bet you guys were going nearly twice my speed. I remember seeing 108 kts. at one point, on 155 true. Low level was the only way to do it, I would have been losing 75 kts. higher up. The turbulence was hilarious, if you like turbulence. I am not a big fan. KCOU to KFCM was not too bad, found a 25 knot tailwind at 3,000. Not my fault, I wanted to wait a day to let that cyclonic low go away, but a family matter came up and I had to get home pronto.
