PT20J Posted December 1, 2021 Report Posted December 1, 2021 I have a 1994 M20J and the stall and gear warning tones are generated by a tone generator module on the firewall above the left pilot's rudder pedal that feeds a speaker in the cabin ceiling. No sonalerts. The tone generator is fed by two circuit breakers labelled STALL WARN and GEAR WARN. I never thought much about these, but after the instrument panel rebuild I wanted to verify that everything was wired properly and I noted something interesting. When the GEAR WARN breaker is pulled, the gear warning is inop as expected. But when the STALL WARN breaker is pulled, the the stall warning is still operative. It requires pulling both the STALL WARN and the GEAR WARN breakers to disable the stall warning. The wiring appears to be correct. Can someone with a similar installation verify that theirs works the same way (or not)? Thanks. Skip Quote
M20S Driver Posted December 1, 2021 Report Posted December 1, 2021 It is the same in my 1999 Eagle. 1 Quote
moosebreath Posted December 2, 2021 Report Posted December 2, 2021 Precisely the same in my ‘96 J. Which means when your stall warning fails on a long cross country and sounds continuously you will have to pull the stall warning AND gear warning breakers to make it stop. Ask me how I know … 1 Quote
PT20J Posted December 2, 2021 Author Report Posted December 2, 2021 Thanks. Now I know it's not just something weird in my airplane. I guess Mooney really wanted the stall warning to work. Quote
