CAFE400 Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 The CAFE Foundation is selling its beloved '66 M20E to the highest bidder. This is our research aircraft that was used for our research on ultimate drag reduction, ignition systems, exhaust systems, wax job effects, etc. Always hangared and never damaged, it has demonstrated 185 mph TAS on 6.9 gph and achieved over 210 mph at 8000' level cruise. It has a mid-time Lyc. IO-360 A1B6 engine, electric gear, 2 props, good radios, double-flash strobes, DGO-9 HSI, TAS indicator and IVSI, intercom, etc. Everything works. We hate to let her go but we have to move on with our work on the Green Flight Challenge. Quote

orangemtl Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 What a SHARP looking aircraft! I fly periodically to Santa Rosa; is it located at Chas Schultz? I'd like to see it in person, before it gets purchased and relocated. Amazing to see a 45 year old aircraft that looks so very current. Most impressive. Quote
N601RX Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 This plane is registered as expermental. Quote
jeckford Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Sounds fishy to me... If you go the the CAFE website it was originally listed in June and states that it will be parted out... http://blog.cafefoundation.org/?p=3543 Quote
