Condensed v. Expanded option not working

I've tried a couple of different browser types, but the Condensed / Expanded option for viewing the topic list doesn't seem to work any longer. It's always Expanded. If I choose Condensed, it will highlight that selection, but nothing changes on the page. After a refresh, it goes back to the Expanded being selected.

Curious...
