MARZ Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 After two weeks of gusty days today gave Houston a reprieve - I took the side trip to the airport, dusted off the pollen from the wings, cleaned the windshield and took flight - no real destination just headed here and there, all the time thinking how surreal it was, I've yet to take for granted the thrill of climbing into the pilot seat and actually flying MY plane. After about and hour and a half I decided to call it good and head home, got to the airport - calm winds, sun setting, no one in the pattern - Then it happened, the absolute best landing I've made in my Mooney, and evem though no one was there to see it..... It was a perfect flight. Quote
N33GG Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Mike: Also living here in Texas, I know exactly what you mean about the wind and pollen. But more than that, I sure know what you mean about never getting over the feeling of a great flight. After nearly 40 years and thousands of hours in the air, I have never been bored with nor taken for granted a single second the awesome experience of flying my own plane. I'm right there with you! May you have many years and thousands of hours of that feeling!!! Quote
MooneyMitch Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 What a great, great experience we have................this thing of flying our airplanes. There is truly nothing like it. The feeling of such freedom, the true adventure of it and the beauty of flight. I too am in complete agreement with you about never being bored on any flight I have taken in my flying history of many, many years. I have never taken it for granted and I doubt I ever will. Each time is such a thrill and so exciting o me. Happy flying [and especially Mooney flying] to everyone! Quote
jezzie Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 This is such a great group, I am looking forward to enjoying the wonder of it all and the wonderful world of flying again. Listening to everyone express their feeling on the sheer enjoyment of flight is just a taste of what I will be doing in 2 or 3 weeks. Eldon Quote

jax88 Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 I was lucky enough to get to drive out to Kerrville and fly my aircraft back to San Antonio yesterday. It WAS a beautiful day for a flight, even a short one. Quote
