But if you're redoing the panel / interior anyway, I'd think about going T-P-M. I avoided colors here because my Mixture is, of course, red, but the other two are black. 1 Quote
1964-M20E Posted February 1, 2018 Report Posted February 1, 2018 Yeah recently got checked out in a 172XP 195HP with CS prop. I was constantly adjusting the mixture when I was wanting to adjust the prop. It didn't take long to get used to the different layout. The instructor corrected me a few times and I told him that my Mooney it was just the opposite and that the Cessna had the layout wrong. 1 Quote
DXB Posted February 1, 2018 Report Posted February 1, 2018 When I installed a new panel, I replaced my 48 year old original throttle cable, since it had to be fully removed anyway during the process, and it's the most critical of the 3 cables. The mixture and prop didn't have to be fully removed, so I kept them. Plus they were a youthful 40 years old - yikes I probably should have replaced also . I did swap them to the more conventional positions and later painted the center buttons to the standard colors. I really like them this way - it feels more intuitive. They will get changed too at the next overhaul. 1 Quote
