I have an audio in jack for my GMA-340.  It's very nice to be able to listen to music, but what I don't like is that when ANYONE talks, the music mutes.  I'm fine with it muting when there is radio traffic, but I'd like to be able to have a conversation with my passengers without the music muting.  I see that there is a way to disable this (connecting J2 pin 13 to J2 pin 14).  Is this in the wiring harness behind the panel?

Has anyone done this?  How do you identify the correct wires?

There are 2 high density 44 pin connectors on the back of the rack that would have to have the wires and pins added to them. These connectors are referred to as j1 and j2. You could make up a short wire with the pins crimped on it and just insert it into the pin 13 and 14 position on the j2 connector or use some longer wires and add a remote switch to change the mode.

The pins and wire can be purchased from lane-pilot or stein air. Since you likely don't have the crimpers they would probably crimp them for you if asked.

There are so many great functions of the modern audio panel.  Knowing what they are is a challenge.  Knowing how to activate them is even more of a challenge...

Raged,

Try to get the manuals for your device.  This way you can see what the connections look like at the back.  These will be helpful to have when speaking with or emailing with somebody that can provide the parts as Mike/ @N601RXdetailed above...

of course there will be two manuals the pilot's manual and the installation manual.  The pilot's manual might be good enough.  The installation manual will have all the details...  often these manuals are available on line, free CB style... from the manufacturer...

PP thoughts only, not an electronics guru...

Best regards,
