Marauder Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 Hi All, In case you didn't catch this news. The RTX-345 will now talk with the Aspen products for traffic and weather. Looks like $795 unlocked code required (even for the MFD). http://aspenavionics.com/news/aspen-avionics-evolution-displays-integration-with-garmins-gtx-345-ads-b/ 2 Quote
mooneyman Posted December 17, 2016 Report Posted December 17, 2016 I recently had GTX 345 and FlightStream 510 installed. It would be great to get weather and traffic on my Aspen PFD/MFD. Here is the quote from my avionics shop: The unlock card from Aspen is $795.00 each. You would need one for both the PFD & MFD. A couple of hours to update software and programming. I could do this sometime in the Middle of January. Pobably around $1800 total out the door. I'm glad Garmin and Aspen are working together but wish they would have made a cheaper path for this integration to happen. 1 Quote
kevinw Posted December 18, 2016 Report Posted December 18, 2016 I read that recently as well. My 201 goes in next month for its biennial IFR and I'm getting the unlock done at that time. Quote

Do you have the Aspen 2000? I know the MFD is unlocked for most things (like my WX-500) but I suspect it isn't for the Garmin solution. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
kevinw Posted December 18, 2016 Report Posted December 18, 2016 No I don't, just the 1000 but this has me thinking about adding the MFD. Quote
