jetdriven Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Quote: FlyDave Actually, though I don't care for someone advertising on a site like this, I do find some of Richard's posts informative. He has a lot of experience with Mooneys and make some valid points. I called Richard a couple of months ago and asked if he had time to discuss some questions I had about Mooney's. He promptly stopped me and told me that I could either "make a donation to his web site" or use his "location services" but he wasn't interested in speaking to me otherwise. I found his tone and "sales technique" a bit too curt for my liking and decided not to persue either. But if Richard want's to post on this forum and answer people's questions without the "donation" or "location services" then I think he has something of value to add to this web site. Dave Quote
richardheitzman Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Whew that is a long article. He brings up some valid points, but nothing that has not been hashed over here our forums. I find it somewhat insulting that he does not mention the most valuable and respected Mooney service center in Texas, and that is Don Maxell. I have never met Boyd Maddox but it appears from the couple items on Mooneymite.com that he is a Mooney mite specialist.(This does not mean I am recommending him, I have never met him or even seen his shop or aircraft that he worked on) We all know Dugosh (although Ronnie is down two experts and it's just him and Dave and Paul Johns now in the shop). Just keep in mind Buyer Beware and do a good pre buy. Quote
Shadrach Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Boyd is a good guy. I called him about an instrument install he did 7 years before when my brother had the plane in TX. Not only did he recall the airplane and install, but he took 45 mins and 2 phone calls to help me trouble shoot. I offered to send him a check but he refused. He ended the call with "take care now, call anytime"... Really nice guy! Quote
