mooniac58 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Today was a fun day! I got to bring home N5801N from the paint shop today in Honolulu. They (Straube's Hawaii) did a really good job and I could not be any more pleased Some pictures are attached. Now it will take a few days to re-install the refurbished interior that Aero Comfort did.
N57039 Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 I like it! How long was the plane down for the painting?
mooniac58 Posted October 22, 2008 Author Report Posted October 22, 2008 It took them about 5 weeks...but originally they said 3. The owner lost a couple employees around the time my bird arrived so he basially had to do the job himself. The cost was $10,500.00. They would have done $8500 for a basic paint scheme but anything with "flare" like this is $10K for a Mooney. The extra good news is it was nearly corrosion free - which is a big deal for Hawaii aircraft.
ArtCraft Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 ArtCraft Paint, Inc has a Thanks’ giving special COMPLETE PAINT JOB FOR $ 9,000.00 if you bring your aircraft before Saturday November 14, 2009
MooneyMitch Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 I can honestly vouch for this paint shop, ArtCraft in Santa Maria, CA. Our Ovation is a perfect example..........it is truly stunning!!
MooneyMitch Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Well of course it's faster!! Just like when you wash and wax your car.............it always goes faster. Actually, the former paint was in very good condition and I did not do any speed tests prior to. Thank you for the compliment.
