dsimes Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Has anyone used the sound insulation products wtih cutting templates for their Mooney? I am considering for my 64E, but I haven't heard anything first hand. Thanks. http://soundexproducts.com/
1964-M20E Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 I'm considering doing soundproofing in my 64E as well. I was looking at the black neoprene foam from Aircraft Spruce. I'm not sure of the cost differential but soundex at least has the template marked on the material. I was thinking about tackling this during my annual early next year.
Ron McBride Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 I purchased new material fro, Laser when I did my 69F. With the cabin empty, I got a rough measurement and cut large pieces and thenI just sat on the floor and cut the material with sissors and a utility knofe to fine tune them. there are a lot of small pieces. I just filled every nook and crany that I could. I also while I was in there removed any extra wiring, tie wraps etc. the the radio shops had left over the years. Ron
flhelo Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 I also purchased my soundproofing from Lasar. I bought it off the roll. They can also provide it pre-cut for your model. A little more pricey but it can save you some time with the cutting.
