Does the name Lewis H. Height ring a bell for anyone? He would have been a contemporary of Al Mooney.

Harley,

This guy?

https://www.google.com/patents/US1774032

1929 patent for some similar looking foldable landing gear. The crank handle looks a hair more complex than the beloved J-Bar of 1965.

Best regards,

Yes, that guy!

I found the patent, which is apparently one of three for Al....but who is Lewis Height?

Sort of like, Who Is John Galt?

Yes, I know Lewis H. Height, Sr. He is my grandfather and I heard many stories about Al Mooney, Mooney Aircraft, the landing gear, Alexander Aircraft, the Eagle Rock, the OX5 Club, etc.

Justin,

Welcome aboard!

Pleased to make your acquaintance.

All stories related to Mooneys (Men and machines) are greatly appreciated.

I hope you like to type.  The floor is yours....:)

Best regards,
