mike_elliott Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 A couple of days ago, Phil Corman announced the First Annual Mooney Summit in Paso Robles Ca. Phil has renamed his event to the MooneyFlyer Summit to avoid confusion, as I have received a few emails asking if Dr. Ron Dubin and I were hosting this event and what our relationship is with them. While Ron and I have offered to help in an advisory capacity, Phil Corman and Jim Price are doing the heavy lifting for their event. We all hope that, at some point in the future, these events will both occur under the Mooney Summit banner with a common and cohesive mission statement. As we work towards our not-for-profit corporate status, this will become more of a reality. The Mooney Summit team encourages and supports Phil and Jim, as they provide benevolent not-for-profit educational and flying activities to better Mooney Pilots. It is said that “imitation is the highest form of flattery” to which we are humbled and honored. The gift of time, networking and expertise that the organizers of the various lunch groups, fly in’s and seminars provide make these events so valuable. Thanks Jim, Phil for providing a venue convenient for Mooney owners on the west coast. 2 Quote

I wish all Mooney events were organized under one banner. It would be much easier to identify opportunities to learn more about our planes, techniques to make us better pilots and to meet others who share our passion. The Mooney family although passionate, is not organized when it comes to the betterment of the Mooney pilot community. 2 Quote
mooneyflyer Posted February 8, 2015 Author Report Posted February 8, 2015 Marauder, Mike invited me on his Board of Directors last summer. I had offered to do a Mooney Summit "West" to make this available to Mooney owners west of the Rockies. Mike and I are in total sync and our format is very similar, except we don't have the equivalent of Dr. Dubin who donates so incredibly to these events. This is a good example of working together. Mike and Dr Dubin have even threatened to attend, which would be awesome! Quote
