knute Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Aero Comfort really does nice work! I had them redo my front seats last year (3 layers of varying density tempur foam, leather left over from another project they'd worked on) and they came out spectacular at a much lower price than Oregon Aero. In additon, they'd repaired and repainted the seat frames, and re-swaged the recliner cam. I recommend their work without reservation. Someday I'd love to go back and have them do the whole interior. -Knute '66 M20E - N6066Q Quote
unicom Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Quote: DaV8or got the factory refurbish! I like the little semi recessed compartment for the fire extiguisher, is that standard on later Mooneys? Quote
skyking Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Parker: add my late congrats to the list. That is friggin beautiful. Almost looks too good to take out and dirty it up. Enjoy it! Quote
DonMuncy Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 I recently had Aero Comfort redo my glareshield. I dealt with Hector. I was impressed with the quality of the work, but perhaps more impressed with the service. They sent it back 2 or 3 days earlier than they promised; a rariety in the airplane world. Don Quote
steelerp Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 I "thought" my mind was made up to use Tejas next year (Aspen this year, Garmin last year) but after seeing this...and the price (8ish you say), I will reconsider. Thanks for sharing. Rick Quote

drpep Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Hi Parker You never cease to amaze me! Totally amazing transformation of your J. As we have spoken before, I own a 20E but deep down I am a closet 201 junkie . While I love my E and my interior is a treat for a 40 plus airplane , your is extraordinary. My mouth waters at what you have added in avionics too. It is good to know someone else doesn't let cost effectiveness in regard to getting your money back run them. Its a pleasure for me to know and acknowledge your passion for Mooney refinements Philip Quote
BaronSmith Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 You're new interior is absolutely gorgeous Parker. The attention to detail and end result make it look like, or better than a new plane. Like Philip also mentioned, the avionics in it are mouth watering, you have an incredible 201. Quote
flhelo Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Better late than never....AWESOME!!!! Quote
StAustin Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 Wow! Those both look amazing. Did you both have the rear bench seat replaced with split seats? If so, what's the ballpark $ on that conversion? Quote
KSMooniac Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 Wow! Those both look amazing. Did you both have the rear bench seat replaced with split seats? If so, what's the ballpark $ on that conversion? The split rear seats (that are also easily removable) came to the J very late in '81 or for the '82 model year. They are more versatile than the fixed bench, and to do the conversion you need to scavenge the seats and more importantly, the mechanism from another airframe. It is a lot more involved than just swapping seats since there are different parts attached to the airframe to make it work. In 8 years of watching the Mooney world closely, I've only seen a set of seats and the required parts listed for sale once, and I think it was ~$2500 for the kit, and the seats needed to be recovered/rebuilt at that price. (this is one of the reasons I bought an entire salvage J so I can do the conversion myself.) Quote
