KSMooniac Posted November 28, 2014 Report Posted November 28, 2014 I've decided to sell one of my folding bikes. It is a Trek F600, as shown in the links below. It is stock, very good used condition with the factory carry bag. I've also got a big soft suitcase that holds it that can go along with the bike if desired. I'll add some actual photos when i return home soon. This bike is built by a serious bike company with solid components, unlike some of the cheap imports. It is a great bike, very comfortable, stable, fast, etc and not a clown bike. . $500 https://www.flickr.com/photos/roger_h/sets/72157621959474777/detail/ http://www.roadbikereview.com/cat/latest-bikes/folding-bike/trek/f600/prd_290974_5671crx.aspx Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
KSMooniac Posted February 18, 2015 Author Report Posted February 18, 2015 Bump for finally adding some pics. This is a high quality bike with really great components, and light weight. Surely someone wants to add this to their summer trip gear!
Piloto Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 Does it has the back seat option? So my wife can pedal while I seat on the back. José
KSMooniac Posted February 19, 2015 Author Report Posted February 19, 2015 Does it has the back seat option? So my wife can pedal while seat on the back. José Unfortunately the extra seat option = buying a 2nd bike! The only tandems that break down for travel that I know of are from Bike Friday, and are very good, but expensive.
ryoder Posted February 21, 2015 Report Posted February 21, 2015 How much is a new one? Can you post a link to the new one? I'd like to have this in the hangar so I can go nosing around and see what people are working on.

I'd like to have this in the hangar so I can go nosing around and see what people are working on. Trek only made these in the 2004-2005 time frame, I believe, so you can't buy this one new any longer. I bought it used 3-4 years ago, but haven't used it much really. I found some other folding bikes I like better so I'd rather see someone else get some use out of this one. It is a great bike and rides very nicely. From the Road Bike Review link above, they put the MSRP at $1050 when it was new. I'm not sure what the real price in a bike shop would've been, but probably close to that unless caught on a year-end close-out or similar. It takes about 15-20 seconds to fold it down, and maybe another minute to put it in the travel bag. It can be loaded pretty easily through the main door and into the back seat of a Mooney. It fits in a normal car trunk as well, so it can be transported in a cab easily enough when on a trip. Or just kept in the hangar for an airport run-a-bout.
PTK Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 The Trek F600 is a great foldable bike with excellent components such as Shimano brakes and dérailleur. A little known fact is that it was designed in collaboration with Dahon and shares some key Dahon technology such as handlebar, frame latch and seat latch. Dahon are folding bike specialists and the best selling folding bikes in the world.
Piloto Posted February 28, 2015 Report Posted February 28, 2015 Went with the skateboards. Easier to fit in the Mooney. 1
