Tommy Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Hi guys! I had a bit of fright today when my gear safe light wouldn't come up after I put the gear down. After I press the announciator a few times, the light comes on but a little bit dim. I made a fly pass and the wheels are confirmed down by my friend on the ground. An uneventful landind ensued. Anyone had this problem before? Is it most likely a bad connection on the announcitor rather than the gear problem? My J has just had an annual and the gear was checked on a jack. Thanks! Quote
Marauder Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Between this problem, your stall warning, your autopilot horn and the trim servo issue --- I would suggest you find an exorcist to perform an exorcism on your airplane. You have evil spirits lurking! Seriously, if you haven't been to an avionics shop, I would find one that has a technician experienced in tracking down electrical anomalies. Something is not right for you to have this many electrical issues in your plane. Something is in common... Quote
Tommy Posted October 28, 2014 Author Report Posted October 28, 2014 I agree. On top of it, my Comm 2 breaker seems to pop intermittently!! Arrrghhh.... Quote
ArtVandelay Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Don't forget the indicator on the floor if that happens again. Quote
DonMuncy Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 +1 for the floor indicator. It is mechanical and not subject to electrical influence. Quote
kevinw Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Also keep in mind the gear down light is dimmer than the others in the annunciator panel if the nav lights are on; at least that's the case on my J. Turn them off and the light should be brighter. For that reason I only use my strobes during the day. Quote

I thought you can override this by pushing the test button, which restores display to full brightness. Quote
