I'm replacing the airspeed placard, but it wasn't filled out before. Who can help me fill it out with the proper numbers? Keep in mind I have zero hours as PIC. As far as the numbers are concerned, I would give you homework and find them in the performance section. You won't find most miles per gallon of fuel in the POH. You will have to ask Bernard Carson. MB65E Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Never seen that placard either...but good stuff. My guess is it's not a required one in the POH. I would refrance the POH for the numbers it lists, and then during your training try and see what your numbers in question are. Each airplane will be slightly different. Hank Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Best rate of climb is at Vy, which is altitude dependent. In my C, it's (100 MPH - altitude in thousands), and the rate of climb decreases with altitude. You can probably pick so number on the VSI to hold and get decent performance, but it's not how our planes were designed. Same for cruise power settings, very altitude dependent. Longest duration per the Oeners Manual, or longest duration per Vz, Catson's Speed? Both are too slow for my taste, the controls are too mushy. Please try it after you get used to the feel of normal cruise and see for yourself. When descending, I keep power on to salvage potential energy (altitude becomes speed) and make up for the slow climb. Welcome to the Mooney world! Get ready to have lots of fun! Quote

Mooney POHs were developed over the years. The best ones for the C (probably E as well) were last printed for the 1977 model. Best regards, -a- Quote
