moodychief Posted February 16, 2014 Report Posted February 16, 2014 Mooneyspace saved my airplane. After reading several entries discussing the gear lock mechanism on the vintage Mooney's I decided to check mine. After looking at the worn areas on the old gear lock I wasn't going to take any chances. I noticed a little play in the Johnson bar when checking the gear down so I immediately ordered and had my mechanic install a new LASAR gear lock. 2 Quote
Sabremech Posted February 16, 2014 Report Posted February 16, 2014 Did mine last year as it was worn more than yours is. I also did the up lock so that the gear handle was tight in both positions. David Quote

Sabremech Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Here's mine from a year ago. Just a little wear from 7600 Hours and countless landings. David Quote
orionflt Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Just took a look at mine after a little over 4000 hour on my 62C. Surprisingly there was almost no wear and I confirmed it is still original. Quote
Jerry 5TJ Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 I replaced the "C" bird's uplock block in 2009. It had ~3900 hours on it and was worn to about the state that Sabremech photographed. Easy job to replace it. Anyone who wants the old one send me a PM. Quote
