docket Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 I have been in to Flightline First and it was a very nice FBO. They put me in the hangar for a very reasonable charge. My only gripe is with the ATIS at KNEW. I left KHOU and they were calling it at 6 miles and 2500. I broke out at 500' over the lake with the runway pretty hazy. My sense was that it was 500 and 1 mile. Taxied in and the ATIS was still the same. I have had bad ATIS there twice. Also, if you are departing westbound they carry you pretty far South if you file IFR so that you get around KMSY. If you depart northbound and have any issue in the first few minutes make sure to take swim trunks and a mask. All in all it is a fun place to fly in to and you kind of feel like you are landing on a carrier since most of the airport is on a dedicated peninsula.
