Can't search less than 4 characters

Craig,

 

I've found that I can't search the forums for any parameter less than 4 characters. Is this something to thwart spam-bots or other nefarious internet entities or maybe it would return too many entries and choke the web server? Can it be changed so we can search for 3 character parameters?

I was looking for a thread on the Garmin 696 but have not been able to find it or any other thread with "696" in it.

Many sites employ the search function that's 4 or more characters.  I noticed it too but just figured it was the software running this board.  If Craig can make that change, it would be nice for certain words and purposes.  However I'm not sure if that is possible.

TKS. Big topic. Three letters. Surely our webmaster can define a set of three character strings ('IFR', 'TKS', 'IMC',...) that should be searchable?

Funny this topic should come up, I was thinking the same thing the other day when i went to find the recent threat on the AOA system.
