sreid Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 I'm sure some of you visit Branson, MO. I want to share my experience with the FBO at KBBG, Branson Jet Center. I overnighted two nights in May 2013 with my Mooney. While there, the Branson Jet Center line service damaged my airplane. They were moving my airplane into their hangar with a tug, and ran the left aileron into other equipment that was stored in the hangar. Initially they pointed out the damage, were very apologetic, and indicated that they would pay for the repair. After I provided an estimate for repairs, endured several months of waiting, and made numerous phone calls, Branson Jet Center informed me that they considered the matter closed, and if any repairs were needed I would need to handle them myself. I had previously used their facility numerous times with excellent customer service. But in this case where true customer service and monetary compensation for physical damage was required, they failed to provide anything. I want others to be aware that Branson Jet Center’s facade of good customer service crumbles quickly when a real mistake is made. Quote

Virtually all the comments for Branson Jet Center are 5 star happy. http://airnav.com/airport/KBBG/BRANSON_JET_CENTER#c Airnav comments are taken seriously by FBOs since so many pilots rely on them. Carl S Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 BBB is another place you might consider sending a report. 1 Quote
Mooneymite Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 This is a good idea, thank you. Be aware, Airnav gives the FBO an opportunity to respond to complaints. The FBO usually (but not always) gets the "final word". Quote
aaronk25 Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 Put it on foreflight comments too if you utilize that app. I will not patronize them after hearing about your unfortunate situation. Quote
John Pleisse Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 Should have been an easy insurance claim for them. Stupid. Quote
231flyer Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 File a claim in small-claims court if your damages are below $10,000 (applies to most states). Posting on Airnav, BBB, etc helps but you are still out the repair costs. If the FBO is negligent and unresponsive you will win a default judgement and will be able to place a lien on them. Absolutely no reason why you should suffer the consequences of their neglect. Document everything!!!!!! Quote
jeckford Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 What a pain!!! Very sorry and hopefully BJC will come around and do the right thing. I make frequent trips to Branson and usually go to KPLK. I just tried Branson West KFWB last week and they will get my business from now on. Much better runway, good FBO, no overnight fee if you buy fuel and fuel is reasonably priced. Just an FYI. Quote
N33GG Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 I would hire the meanest attorney I could find and make them really wish they had taken care of me. Quote
sreid Posted December 3, 2013 Author Report Posted December 3, 2013 Thanks for the comments. It's a shame that they treat a customer this way, because their operation was always top notch in my previous experience. But in a situation where true customer service was required, it was a different story. Anyway, I'm obviously not returning there. I'm planning on Point Lookout--PLK next time. Good to know that Branson West is a good option as well. Steve Quote
moodychief Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Point Lookout is closer to town anyway. Quote
The-sky-captain Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Point Lookout is closer to town anyway. Plus there is a very nice van to use if you are friends with the owner!! Quote
