Winter weather didn't let me fly as much as I would like but I probably have 50 hours on the setup now. After working out a few very minor install issues everything is working flawlessly. My workload is significantly lower than with the KFC-150 and situational awareness is much better, especially during approaches. I wasn't able to do the yaw damper because the servo interferes with the Kelly Thermal Systems AC's heat exchanger, and the installer had to work out a few interference issues with the servo mounting bracket and the AC. In theory they will. I have an IFD550 + IFD440 now, and have a scheduled install for dual GI 275s and a GFC 500 this fall at a well known shop.

Isn't that a circuit breaker switch? It's possible the circuit breaker is tripping.

I have a similar issue in my Ovation. Of course it always works perfectly in the shop. It's probably the same disconnect button as the J, maybe I'll just replace that and see if the issue goes away.

It's not just the low profile drag, but the short landing gear means the Mooney wing is much closer to the ground than most other airplanes and ground effect is more pronounced, greatly reducing induced drag during landing.

Why do you say that? I'm planning my panel, and had come to the conclusion that the G3x/G5 combo gave better reversionary capabilities and equivalent functionality elsewhere. I know the G500Txi has a better display, but that didn't seem enough to offset the lower cost and better reversionary capabilities of the G3x/G5 pair.

I was also at the seminar and had enjoyed hanging out with @hubcap and the other attendees. While I made the trip from Pittsburgh, I don't think I came the furthest. I remember one Ovation guy was from California, and I think there were a couple of attendees from eastern Virginia.
