  1. So with your panel, the fastest to continue your IR training would be a Nav selector switch and the shop might be able to squeeze you into their schedule. Next fastest would be a stand alone nav-head, maybe do a cheap LOC only for your Nav 2 and have the Avidyne output to the current KI 209A. But, I agree with the other posters: dual G5s would be a sweet and more future proof solve to your current navigation problem, thought at a non-trivial cost.
  2. Still not sure why someone would put in an Avidyne and not connect it to a nav head of some kind. Maybe a panel pic and we can help you find an unmarked switch?
  3. Anyone saving 10% of their fuel?
  4. I used AIC and it was great handling and communication every step of the way. Use a contract template (aopa, nbaa, etc) and read it through as the good ones protect buyer and seller. Wiring money I found to be error prone so check with both banks (send and receive) to make sure you’ve got their forms filled out right. Otherwise, you will be trying to reel the money back in and that is difficult at best, and gone, at worst.
  5. @Sabremech How is the project progressing? Its always cool to hear about projects as they take shape.
  6. I've had my QT Halos for almost 10 years now. About 2 years back, the boots split exposing the wires which was worrisome but didn't affect the workings ... yet. I was able to send them in, and get them back in under 2 weeks at no charge and they have been as good as new. Comfortable to wear for hours, and you can go over the top or wrap around behind. The only downsides I've found is, they do get a little gunked up over time, and thus you can't really share them without swapping the ear plugs. I would buy them again without doubt.
