  1. I have a 67 F up at KCCB cable in upland. I’m happy to let you sit in it
  2. Yes I’m going to do the case pressure test. I have a hard time believing that’s the issue since i did 4 cylinders 70 hours ago
  3. Does yours drop below the cowl flap or sit right above it? I’m having oil seeping out the breather excessively and think it’s a low pressure pulling it out
  4. The only issue with this is i have the rpm limitation on the F i can’t do a constant 2300 rpm i can do 2400-2700
  5. Anyone have a chart for Power settings for instrument approaches and what not? I’m a new owner and am about to start instrument training in it and thing this info would be very helpful. Thanks
  6. On my 67F the crank case drain is right above my pilots side cowl flap and i get some drips out of there as well, trying to diagnose my drips as well
  7. Hey everyone, on my 67F model i seem to always get a bunch of oil coming out of the breather after a flight. I try to keep the oil around 6qts so i seem to always be adding a bit after every flight. Should i just stop adding and see if it stabilizes around 5-5.5? I’m in California so the extra oil is nice to keep the engine cool, engine has about 900 smoh and 60since a top overhaul with chrome cylinders. Going to see if i have an air oil separator installed tomorrow.
  8. Who’s everyone using for insurance? My carrier i used for my Cherokee requires an instrument rating for a complex plane and I’m currently doing instrument training but can’t do it without insurance. I’m a 300hr private pilot with 80 hours in mooneys. I just put a quote in with falcon but am curious what you private pilot only guys are doing?
  9. Seems that we are having different issues, I’m going to try and get it in the shop soon to figure it out. The engine monitor isn’t a huge priority, I’ve done without until now but would love to get it squared away
  10. Not sure, i bough the plane with it in so I’d have to check the logs
  11. Okay, so i think I’ve narrowed down my issue with the very high CHT on my F model. I believe it’s an issue with my JPI800, i think this is the issue because i flew today and when i had just started up and was just taxiing around i noticed my temps Were super hot for a 1000-1200 rpm idle. 1200EGT and 300CHT. I figure there is now way I’m making that much heat on the ground at such a low power setting. When i was flying i kept an eye on the old school mechanical CHT gauge and it never even hit 400! Made me very happy, now let’s figure out why my jpi is being stupid
  12. Yesterday when i flew i was on climb out and my cht peaked at 455. I think i can attribute that to it being 100 degrees outside. I also was having to leave the gear down for the short trip since i need gear adjusting so i did the flight with the gear down. When i saw it peak at 450 i turned the boost pump on and throttled back and it dropped
  13. This is what i wanted to hear! I think the temps are high because the new cylinders, I’m going to do an oil change and run some mineral oil to see if it helps break them in better
