  1. Guys, I just installed my Whelen PAR 46 LED light. It is fantastic and it is easy to install on my '75 Mooney F Executive. Don't even consider getting a regular bulb that only lasts 25 hours. No STC, no 337, just remove and replace. It took about 20 minutes. Just be sure connect the lead wire to the correct fitting (it does make a difference on connecting to the bulb, I just had to sway connectors). Even for $225 (I bought it at OshKosh) it is worth it, plus it looks cool as well. By the way, I replaced all my position lights with LED as well, now I a have a "Green" Mooney!!!
  2. Markeg1964, would you know of an online W&B calculator for a 1975 M20 F model? Thanks.
  3. Hank, I use almost the same identical technique on my 1975 M20F Executive. I try to keep the MP above 21" in the descent, V/S about 500 fpm, same pattern entry technique. Keep the engine nice and toasty in the descent, until you have to pull it back to enter the pattern, slow down, configure and land.
  4. UPDATE: Flew Sunday morning with the new Air Wolf Mini-Sep, worked great. I had owned an M20 Oil Seperator for over 10 years and it never worked right (probably due to the back pressure due to the holes drilled in the vent tube to prevent blockage in case of icing. Since I live in Florida and never fly in ice, that may have been the issue the whole time!). Back in the chocks, no oil out the breather tube, no oil on the belly, very little oil consumption ( a big benefit of this mod is now I can REALLY determine if I am burning oil or pushing it over the side). The Air Wolf Seperators work on the oily breather tube air condensing the oil on the stainless steel (looks like steel wool) inside the seperator and then draining it back to the engine. So far I'm impressed. Wish I had done this earlier. Note: I have a dry vacuum pump, my buddy who owns an Mooney Eagle has his Air Wolf to lubricate his wet vacuum pump, great installation idea. It also does a good job keeping the belly clean. Butch
  5. I have an M20 Air Oil Seperator that over the last 10 years never seemed to work right. At Osh Kosh this year I bought an Air Wolf mini-seperator. Having it installed next week. I think it will work great. IMHO.
  6. Alun, Once you replace the wire that controls the dorsal vent, be VERY careful opening and closing it. Too much torque and you'll disconnect the or break the wire and have to start all over (learned by experience). Be gentle with it. Butch Gilbert N6902V 1975 M20F.
  7. I am looking for a couple of fuel caps as well, same markings and part number. Thanks, Butch Gilbert
  8. On my M20F there is an inline fuse from the battery to the hot battery bus. I have pulled the fuse (reinstalled for night flights). This solves the dome light issue, and I don't really care about the clock. IMHO.
