  1. Also, good argument for the "pinch hitter" training for our co-pilots.
  2. I don't want to discourage any of you, but I spoke with Russell a few weeks ago and I believe he said the minimun number would be significantly north of 12. I'll call him again Tuesday and discuss the possibility of us pre-purchasing and the number required before he would be willing to do so.
  3. A spare wouldn't be a bad idea.
  4. I'm in for a SWTA windshield.
  5. I suppose there is a reason that long time Mooney experts still light up when they start talking about the 252. I had more than one tell me how the 252 was the best Mooney ever built while I was contemplating the same choices you're speaking of.
  6. Well Parker, you'll likely be disappointed - I'm not putting any "glass" in mine. Going with a 430W, SL30, GTX330 ES, dual glideslopes, an EDM700 with fuel option, a digital timer/clock, a card compass, and getting everything interfaced/integrated.
  7. I did it! I finally made a decision on a new aircraft last night. After a couple of months of studying the market, looking at several sets of logs, considering all my flight profiles and future needs, I pulled the trigger. My new aircraft will likely NOT be any faster than my current aircraft. You see, I decided last night that I would keep my 75F and invest in new avionics, interior, and mods. A complete avionics upgrade is scheduled to begin June 20 at McKee in San Marcos. While the avionics are being done I am going to get SWTA to add flap gap seals (shame they can't get the glass for the 201 windshield mod) and overhaul my fuel senders. I will likely have the interior completely redone at the same time so the co-pilot will quit nagging me about needing a headrest AND so I can get those unsightly cracks in the plastics covered/replaced. Not the sexiest alternative, and probably not the smartest financial decision (I'll never get even a third of what I'm about to spend back if I decide to sell later), but I've yet to have a trip in my 75F that I didn't enjoy and feel completely safe about.
  8. Yep, it got my attention REAL good. In fact, I took off from Santa Teresa on a really hot day once, and when the aircraft wouldn't climb very well, I immediately checked the flaps. That day's lesson was the impact of density altitude on normally aspirated aircraft.
  9. Too funny Richard (not really). I had a similar experience in training. Out for some solo practice, try to execute a go around, forgot to bring the flaps up and had to quickly try and figure out why the old 172 wasn't climbing. I think they had to replace the left seat in that aircraft after my flight.
  10. Terror? Oh, like the day I got caught paying more attention to the golf going on below me while turning base to final. That's the day I realized exactly what my instructor meant by "it's the airspeed, stupid".
  11. I'm on the tarmac at Stinson.
  12. aerobat95 - if you're able to find a hangar, I want it when you're done >
  13. George - I think you have two different Eagles mixed up. The logs for 625TB were never a problem to get. Actually, I'm hoping I'm mixed up and you have the logs for 132MA (the one for which the seller refuses to send logs without getting $250).
  14. Even the $25,000 stipulation only applies to property "other than the aircraft", thus the question about how much it might cost to resurface a runway should a gear up cause damage significant enough to require a resurfacing.
  15. Does "aircraft collision" include colliding with the ground? If not, I don't see where a simple gear up that does not result in injury or damage to property other than the aircraft requires reporting. I wonder how much damage to the runway surface a gear up would cause.
  16. I've already got the logs, but thanks.
  17. It is confirmed, airframe log shows the incident as a gear up.
  18. Gear up huh? The engine log has the incident listed as a prop-strike. That and the high time engine have me hesitating on getting a pre-buy done. I figure I can get the engine overhauled for $35k - $40k. Just trying to be patient and wait for the "perfect" aircraft to come along.
  19. Mine is the PAR36 "drop in replacement" as well. Like you, I've got the paperwork right beside the other 337's etc.
  20. Wildblue isn't the seller in question. As for running off the "tire kickers", if I've got the logs in .pdf format, it costs me no more to attach them to the email requesting the $250, so why not. You never know when one of those tire kickers will turn into a buyer. Exposure is a good thing in sales.
  21. I inquired about an Eagle that is listed on Controller and was told that it would cost $250 to get a look at the log books. AND, the $250 is only refundable if I purchase the aircraft. Uh, no thanks, someone else will get my cash.
  22. Sorry for my ignorance, but does the STC apply retroactively? I had mine installed last month.
  23. I think the minimum number Russell has to order is a good bit north of 12.
  24. Me, kinda made me feel silly, but at least I was safe.
