  1. I just got mine from GLA this week and it was well worth the $50+. Looks really nice and I dont have to spend hours fabricating or trying to clean the old one.
  2. Looking for any advice. I flew from Ft Leavenworth to Pensacola and back over the last week, 5-5.5 hours per trip, and had some odd indications each time. On the trip down there, about 30 minutes outside Pensacola, the #2 EGT started going 200-300 degrees high on my EDM 700 and then dropping below average afterwards. It would do this several times within a second. It was around the same time I was beginning a decent so as I pulled the power back slightly, the indications went normal. There was no roughness in the engine and all other readings were fine, to include CHT. Once on the ground, MX checked it out and ended up cleaning both the injector, plugs, and probe. On the way home, everything was fine until about 1.5 hours out of FLV (4.0 hours into the flight). I started getting the same indications and decided to land and have it checked out, but as soon as I started down, the probe failed and I had no indications from the #2 EGT. The EDM showed one dash in the middle of the #2 line, with 1, 3, and 4 acting normal. The #2 CHT showed fine and again there was no roughness or other indications so I decided that it must be the probe and continued to FLV, uneventful. This morning I started her back up and indications were fine. I flew around the flagpole a couple times and again, all indications were fine. My mechanic is going to check it out this week but I was wondering if anyone has seen a similar problem and what fixed it. v/r DP

  4. I flew with the iPro Aviator yesterday and had no issues with it fitting. It was tight trying to open and close the clip cover but I managed just fine. Got mine from SkySupply USA and they were excellent to deal with.

  7. Okay, I have been looking at Mooney's for a couple years now and am ready to purchase. I know I want a K model for long trips. The question boils down to which one to shoot for. I think the 231 will meet my needs, and I have a good feeling for the pricing and options. The 252 and 305 though, would also meet my needs and are within the budget, however, at the top of my acquisition range. The biggest question then, is how do they differ in terms of annual service, insurance, and the big overhaul. I know the operating costs go up per hour for the fuel burn, but that is made up in speed and/or throttling back (way back on the 305). If any of you have any experience, what is a rough annual price (w/o major upgrades) on the 252 and 305, and how much does the insurance go up for them? Thanks for any help. DP

  9. Have you looked into the cost of shipping it overseas? Would the government consider a personal aircraft as household goods and ship it for you much like a POV? I may be looking at the same dilemna next year, but to Europe, which would be much more accomodating to bringing an aircraft. DP

  11. Beautiful Plane and panel! Did you pick this up from Mooneyland? If so, how did you like the experience? I am looking at using Zeph and I love his website but wondered what others thought.
