Why did the poster inject race into his comments? This is NOT about race. It is about the rule of law. We are a country of laws, aren't we? My lessons learned: -If you rob a store you might get shot. -If you strike a police officer and try and take his gun you might get shot. -If you charge a police officer you might get shot. -If you get shot while attacking a police officer you might get shot again...and again...and again until you stop. Pretty simple stuff.

I ABSOLUTELY support questioning authority. I also ABSOLUTELY understand that calling this incident "death for bad behavior" is 100% the wrong way to look at this incident. The fact that 22 agree with the statement and "LIKE IT" shows me much. I read the comment not as "Hey I'm the only one that can assess...because I have been there and done that", but rather tying to give perspective to how quickly these events occur. If a member of law enforcement has a weapon out-aimed and is giving verbal commands... Follow them. There is dead right and dead wrong. You are still dead. Choices were made. Guess where I stand?

Cancelled XM subscription over a year ago with purchase of GDL39. Hard mounted to a panel mounted 696 and bluetooth to a co-pilot yoke mounted IPad. Paid for GDL39 already with lack of basic XM monthly fee. Weather is NOT as detailed as the XM, but more than adequate for my VFR purposes. Really like being able to call up the weather at various airports in flight running the pilot AP on the Ipad. I agree that a lot of nice hardware is being worked on right now and hopefully will allow mobile devices for in and out. We shall see. The thought of installing a new GPS and transponder is daunting. Hope the fog clears on legal options for a guy based in Class C that flies primarily in areas where compliance would not be mandated.

My A&P mounted the Accu-Trak where you have a proposed install. (Below pilot panel by right knee). I HATE that location. Try like heck to find an alternate position. Your knee/leg will thank you. It is just to tight there. The Accu-Trak has a sharp bezel. I think in an off-field it could have some consequences.
