My right gauge is acting strange. When the tank is full it reads correct. As you use fuel it reads correct until it gets down to 30 gallons, then it will stay on 30 gallons for more than 40 minutes then it will start to read correctly all the way to empty. I know there are two fuel senders in the tank but I'm not sure where the problem is. Any ideas?

All work was done in accordance with the Bendix/King KFC 225 INSTALLATION AND MAINTENCE MANUAL, AUTOMATIC FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM FOR MOONEY MODELS M20M, M20R AND M20S All work was done by fully certified personal with proper log book entries.

After lots of investigation I managed to diagnose the problem. It was the trim servo. I was able to borrow a pitch and a trim servo. When I changed the pitch servo, no improvement. When I swapped out the trim servo then everything works.

I connected my laptop to the KFC computer and it showed "No error codes stored." I then went through and checked all the values and switches which we all ok. When in flight in only the Flight Director mode, every thing works fine. It will show altitude and heading/nav perfectly. But when you turn on the AP mode the aircraft after several minutes start a climb followed by the electric trim operating in the opposite direction which results in a nose down and so begins a roller coaster ride.

My KFC 225 autopilot is in need of repair. Can anyone recommend a repair station that works on the KFC 225 that is in or near north FLorida?

Need a manifold pressure transducer
M20R replied to PhredPhantom's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Several years ago I purchased the kit from Mooney. It came with blue prints and all the connectors and transducer. The transducer for manifold pressure is an Omegadyne PX329-030AV. The transducer can be purchased for about $300. Attached are some photos of the blueprints -

Florida is not so big if you own a Mooney! I'm looking for an AI that knows Mooneys.

I recently moved to Florida and now I am looking for a shop for my annual inspection. Can anybody advise? Thanks

I just got my renewal and it is up from 3150 to 3562 for my Ovation 250K hull. ATP with 13500 hours and 800 hours in this aircraft. One little change is that they want an Instrument competency check in my aircraft every 12 months even though I recently had an FAA part 135 IFR checkride. No big deal but what are they thinking now?

My insurance expires in 90 days and I just got a letter from my insurance stating I can expect a 25% increase if they decide to renew. No claims and I've owned my Ovation 10 years.

Oil Analysis on M20K during purchase
M20R replied to MooneyAcolyte's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion

I was watching the "Weapon Hunter" on the Smithsonian channel yesterday. The story was about the Oerlikon 20 mm anti-aircraft cannon used by the Navy during WW2. At the end of the story they test fired the weapon and the target was a derelict Mooney N5913Q. Since they didn't have any real explosive rounds, they just shot it up with lead rounds and then detonated a small charge inside the airplane. Pretty spectacular ending for a Mooney.

I emailed the FAA registry and they said they were only up to Sept 4th in processing applications. So, don't worry, it will come eventually.

First of all no waas, no Ads-b and close to 1700 hours. The price does not include VAT which is a heafty 23%. I don't know if you have to pay this if its being exported to the US. That being said, wouldn't it be great to fly it back to the U.S. with a knowable ferry pilot?

My non FIKI TKS pump has failed! A quick email to CAV resulted in a quote of $2600 to overhaul and certify the pump. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet on this unless someone has a different option.

Garmin just came out with a replacement for the KI 256. It even has a built in autopilot adapter. https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/71902 ... 0-GI275-02

Today I turned on the Aero Safe standby vacuum pump to test the system which I do on a regular basis. The pump would not come on and then I could smell an electrical smoke. I opened the side panel and the electric motor on the pump was very hot and the wires had turned black. The motor appears to have seized. For some reason the circuit breaker did not open. I checked the aero safe web site and I could not find out whether they sell just the motor. Does any one know if anyone repairs these motors or where to find a replacement motor. Everything is electric except the artificial horizon. I was planning on putting in the King KI 300 but I don't think they will ever be available.

I switched mine several times with the power on. The last one caused the relay to fail. The relay was close to $300 plus installation!
