  1. If you cant beat em, join em, ..and always try and charge a little more for your big brand name, classic marketing.... Bob KDTO
  2. It is a program supplied by Garmin I believe. email me directly and I can get it to you. There is no reaso n to buy it. You edit the checklist file on a WIN machine using the ACE program/SD reader and save the file with appropriate file name for your airframe type.
  3. They are not included in the chcecklist file from Mooney. You need to use the a program that should be on one of your SD cards to edit the checklist and add what you want for the Emergency section. At the same time you can edit out things in the exsiting checklist that you find unneeded (like some of the marketing stuff Mooney put in there). If you look at the last upgrade SB from Mooney from fall of 2008, you will see a section on what to name the file for the particular airframe. Bob H M20TN
  4. Trying to do this Personally can be a fruitless exercise if you have significant income and/or condition that subjects you to AMT. AMT backs out misc deductions which is where you would 'write off' an aircraft used for business uses. Basically keep a log of hobbs out/hobbs in and every dime you spend on fuel, maint, ramp fees, etc. Keep track of the Hobbs as to whether it was business or pleasure. Business write off is the percent business use multiplied by total cost of ownership less any reimbursements. Again this deduction falls apart if you are subject to AMT and makes LLC, or corp the only way to write off an aircraft for those of us lucky enough to pay AMT every year... cause we are rich..... yeah right BOb Harvey KDTO
  5. Nope ,never is. Aviation is always one of the most expensive smiles you can put on your face :-) I wont name the others..... Bob
  6. If you dont need the three blade, the STC is a little cheaper obviously but it has to be the Hartzell prop model as dictated by the STC. An addtionai item (the icing on the cake ) is there is a new designation plate rivated to your engine making it an N if I remember correctly. I dont think they replace the governor, it is just adjusted to 2700 RPM (at least mine wasnt). The only visually identifiable iteams are : prop (if u didnt have it), add tach in your dash, and engine nameplate change. Bob
  7. Yes it is possible but im not sure with Mooney Factory Service shut down if a regional MSC could do it. Bring your wallet it is about $25k Bob
  8. If you are really paranoid, point that cell phone camera at your gear horn and snap away after shut down. It will record the time and date and give you a good position to point blame....you can also get a picture of the lineman at the same time...works well Bob
  9. Acclaim is for sale, ...actually everything I own is always for sale for the right price :-) Acclaim offers accepted for sure !
  10. This is SB M20-309 issued in August 2009. I inspect this every 25 hrs during oil change, SB says every 100. first actual I have heard on an Acclaim although others could of been silenced.....Scary not sure how to prevent if this can happen that quickly
  11. I would second that request..looking at Meridians right now.... Don do you want a partner? PM me if so
  12. One thing people forget with a Turbo, yes it is easy to plan a 500FPM descent way out and enjoy the ride, however flying IFR in the flight levels one will typically get 1200-1400FPM descents from controllers no matter how much pimping you give them to start down. Example over Orlando at 22k and need to get into Vero Beach, no amount of pleading will get you a descent until outbound towards Vero. Thats about 75 miles to loose 21000 feet at 220+ kts.....plus the GFC autopilot limits you at 180KIAS, this is where you need speedbrakes...still hurts to deploy em for all that fuel you are wasting.
  13. well that will be an expensive WAAS upgrade. Good luck with that
  14. Im sure WAAS is avail for the O3: MOONEY AIRPLANE COMPANY, INC. 165 Al Mooney Road, Kerrville, Texas 78028 tel: 830-896-6000 www.mooney.com Page 1 THIS BULLETIN IS FAA APPROVED FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICE BULLETIN M20-305 Date: August 6, 2008 SUBJECT: All Mooney Aircraft equipped with Garmin G1000 and GFC700 Autopilot are elgible for the Non-WAAS or WAAS Optional Upgrade Packages. 15. Thanks, I understand Mooney wasnt authoring code, but they were paying for it to be tailored to their platform(s). They surely arent writing checks anymore so we wont get any more enhancements (like AOPA database, active traffic support from Garmin modules, etc). Maybe Garmin will do something..fingers X
  16. Now that Mooney is running as a shell, who is going to bring the G1000 Mooney specific software forward. I can see a point in time where Garmin wont support the three year old code we have now (last update 2008), what then.... I'm pretty sure for example the Mooney software wont support Garmin's new active traffic traffic boxes.....someday some module wont support the code anymore///
  17. wonder how Foreflight is still using them as the VFR chart provider when online. Strange
  18. Well I might be wrong, but it has been pretty much a dead organization for two + years, I could stand corrected but I was a member a long time ago and gave up cause of no value (magazine stopped, no new content etc, all that was a left was a sales site for their products)
  19. Hope you didnt send any money to MOA...
  20. High Altitude Cruise in the Acclaim is around 160-165 KIAS, with Vne placard at 194, so I m betting you could get another 15 kts and that is right up against the airframe limits. So maybe 255kts def not going to get into the 260s
  21. Tire looks like it came from an agricultural sprinkler (the big boom type) wonder if that is what upset the aircraft? (from what should of been a survivable ditching)
  22. Out of the TCM, manual "....TSIO-550G engine models above 22,000 ft, do not lean beyond 1675F..". Very ambiguous, does that mean you cant do a "find the peak operation" for you will surely go above 1675, so you have to stay ROP, or does that mean all ROP/LOP operations need to be below 1675...who knows. I m pretty sure there are no Economy Cruise tables (LOP) above 22k in the POH
  23. Quote: danb35 Add me to the list of people who would like some clarification on this point--I suspect it's incorrect, but I'd like to hear some explanation of why you believe it to be the case.

  25. "Welcome again. Is that the ex Matt Kenseth plane?" Looks like it... been for sale with Premier for like 10 months....no one wants it.....maybe that paint is a little over the top :-)
