  2. hi, i can't seem to find any tie downs on my m20j. i heard that the previous owner might have taken them off. are they hidden somewhere thats not so obvious and if i am just looking baddly and they have been removed where can i get replacements? thanks! alun.
  3. i have the aspen coupled to a 430w. the aspen is a brilliant piece of kit and whilst it took a bit of time to get used to - i'd really miss all the features on it now. i have been doing the IR course only last week and the wind drift on its own is worth its weight for figuring out drifts on holds etc...
  4. i was doing my IR rating last week. we had 350ft cloud base. 25kt gusting 36kt 90 degree crosswinds and 60kts at 2000ft so rather bumpy and the mooney did well!
  5. does it alter performance?
  6. i have a 930 fitted. very nice bit of kit but am having problems wit the fuel pressure transducer. jumps about a lot and has read as high as 160psi! the transducer will be replaced by JPI so maybe its just a faulty probe as the wiring was checked and seemed ok!
  7. well it seems like its normal - but not sure if its right!
  8. thank you for the advice. will put them into practice and see what works for me. it is noticable that the plane needs a lot more attention and planning to stay ahead of it than compared to the pipers i learned on. al
  9. hi, i noticed that when flying level that both airlerons are a little high on both sides, as in not level with the flaps, by about 3/4 inch to an inch. is this right or should the airlerons line up with the rest of the wing? thanks, al.
  10. I too am having trouble nailing my landings in my M20J. Half flaps seem fine, full flaps i've had a couple of bounces followed by my first ever go around! What's the knack!? al.
  11. Hi, I was thinking of flying to Lelystad as I heard its a cheaper way to go to Amsterdam with avoiding the €300 landing fees at Schipol. How easy it is to get to central Amsterdam? Thanks, alun.
  12. me very excite! i should get my baby back tomorrow with all her new toys. will post some pics when she gets back for your critical appraisal of the panel work I had done. Will be starting the IR course in just a couple of weeks so hopefully soon be able to take full advantage of all the new toys in the typical UK weather!! Al.
  13. Would be interested in your La Rochelle guy. Only a short hop from here and I have friends who live there. I have an N-reg so not sure if that would affect what he could sign off on? al.
  14. i'm sure a quick one is a link from profiles direct to member galleries.
  15. Not sure which one you mean, there are a few around that part of the island. Let me know if you are over and we can meet for a beer!
  16. no we only had fuel for a couple of hours and no luggage so all in ok.
  17. would be interested in this too...! exactly the same situation.
  18. sounds great! are there many other mooney's in the uk. they don't seem as popular in the uk as in us and germany was the other place where i see there are a few based. where do you get your maintainance done? would be nice to find a place that is familiar with mooneys!
  19. no, we pay £0.76 a litre.
  20. i would be in, but have spent all my money on new avionics. if its a deal in 6 months - i'm there.
