  7. Hi. I am based in jersey and fly a m20j. Al
  8. Hi guys, I am trying to find a replacement for the above. Any ideas? Mooney and all Europe dealers are out of stock. Perhaps a suggestion for a breaker? Part no 310061. Many thanks, Al.
  9. hi. i put a garmin SL30 in as my nav/com 2 and am very pleased with it but it is a bit smaller than your existing unit so you might like to put another toy in to take up the free space!
  10. hi, does anyone know where i can get a list of recurring ad's for a 201J. many thanks, Al
  11. i am thinking of getting it repainted anyway - maybe a whole new one would work out cheaper. 60% of the quote was actually getting it off in the first place so maybe it wouldn't make that much difference!
  12. I have been quoted £6,500 ($9k) to repair this bird strike. any ideas on a cheaper way of doing it? apparanently its the amount of time to remove the horizontal stab and then de skin / reskin. the dent is not big, looks like someone punched it, but the skin is torn. thanks.
  13. ive taken off in some pretty heavy crosswinds and dont have the problem you descibe. i have a 78 J.
  14. i am now a very poor man (with a very slightly miffed missus!) but what the hay you only live once!
  15. now i have a reason to stay at home and to go away!
  16. 155 is reasonable to expect. i use 150 for flight planning tho. i get less than 10 gph but i have the gami's fitted and run lop.
  17. i have landed with 35kts crosswind at 90 degrees off. fly crab, then slip. touchdown on the upwind side of the runway. demonstrated as far as i know is a certification requirement but its not based on the available crosswind at the time its based on a % of the stall speed. al.
  18. for level in the hold/approach i fly 20/20 which gives 106kts trim for +.5deg. then on gs intercept i throw out the gear and half flaps and you shouldn't have to change anything except a bit of down trim for a 3 degree approach at around 90kts. short final is a quick gear - prop - flap final adjust.
  19. about 50. but then i guess everything is a lot nearer over here!
  20. sounds fairly similar but i am leaning well before 5,000 ft on a climb. usually after passing 1,000ft.
  21. Thanks Jose! You are as always a wealth of information.
  22. I am changing mechanics as I am getting a bit fed up with things not being done with my current centre. An example of this is the parking brake which has not worked since I aquired the aircraft in January. At the time I was told that there was a broken valve or splitter or something that was the cause of the problem. Does anyone know what that might be and where I can get a replacement??? Thanks! Alun.
  23. Hi Thomas and welcome! I had found your site and have had a look but was not aware that it was a European group, just german! Alun
  24. that is gorgeous. i hope you don't mind if i file that in my list of possibles for a new scheme...
  25. looking great. i would love to get a new paint job but have decided on a pitts special instead!!!
