M20J Muffler and Exhaust System For Sale

M20J Muffler and Exhaust System For Sale

Quote: fantom You guys fly LOP, with resultant high EGT's melting your current system, should purchase this and keep it in reserve. ;-) -
I bought a car/truck charger, 12/24 Volts in Germany for approx. US$ 130. I cut the wires and installed an adapter like the one in Vrefs post (approx. US$ 50). Works great for playing with the avionics or charging the battery. I used it today to swing the gear.

The oiltemp probe has only one wire attached, your mechanic should make a connection between the probe (e.g. at the thread) and the ground of your Mooney (I'd use the engine), then it should work. Don't put it completly into water, as this will create a short circuit. He doesn't know much about electricity? :-)

I have a 3 year old GI106A indicator laying around here that came out of my Mooney when I installed the Aspen. Comes with EASA or FAA papers, whatever is needed. Free shipping in Europe and to the US, asking US$ 1.400

I use these: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pspages/airgizmouniversalgustlock.php With them you don't have forces on the rod ends.
-
I would look for the part number in the parts catalogue. This way you'll be able to verify the correct revision, too. Edit: That's what the parts catalogue says: PART NUMBER OF POH/AFM WILL VARY ACCORDING TO MODEL YEAR A/C SERIAL NUMBER STATE AIRCRAFT SERIAL NUMBER WHEN ORDERING ADDITIONAL MANUALS.

M20Js with few STC/ F 337 for JAA import ?
Magnum replied to PapaPapa's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Quote: PapaPapa ah ok , now i think i get it. so if there's no EASA STC for the FAA STC, either : 1/ you remove it, 2/ or try and talk to the manufacturer to "make" an EASA STC 3/ or you try (and pay) to have it done by a shop. If there's a EASA STC : 1/ it's held by the manufacturer and is then probably free 2/ or it's held by a shop in EASA-land and then you have to pay for it to this shop correct ? -

Some pictures would be great. What kind of paint scheme are you planning? -
Yesterday I tested the Bose A20 in the Mooney. I couldn't believe how quiet they are, much better than the X. When I tested them at the shop with a noise generator they were just a little bit better than the X, but in the cockpit it is a great difference. They seem to have improved the interference with mobile phones, too. My X switches the ANR function completly off when the mobile in my pocket starts to transmit. With the A20 I just hear some ticking noise in the background and that's it. The volume regulators are better now, too. I had to fix them on the X with a tape, otherwise they were often moved accidentally. But it has one drawback: The clamp pressure is higher now. I could wear the X comfortably the whole day, but I really noticed the A20 after only one hour.

M20Js with few STC/ F 337 for JAA import ?

Quote: Vref Magnus, Sure you can find cheaper ones everything depends on what you want..... Having surveyed the mooney market for more then a year in the US and Europe for a M20J ...I doubt that the 63K euro M20J mid time engine came with all the wisstles and bells and shiny interior and corrosion treatments (maybe I am wrong) Knowing the cost of an IO360 engine overhaul....I seriously talked this option through with people of LOMA air in Belgium (close to wher I live). They are the biggest engine overhauler in Europe for the moment (more then 100 Lyc&Conti engines in six moths time), you end up with 110 K euro to get the engine overhauled plus work.... IMHO and experience from my previous aircraft the engine/prop condition is the most crucial thing all the rest is a compromise and can be controlled in cost an what your ambitions are... So yes you can find a 70K euro bird ....but it will be a compromise...but again...maybe I am wrong..;-) In Germany you can fly the engine/prop on condition, which may help also..... rgds Luc -

You can get a '78 - '85 well below 85k Euros. But it will take some time to find the right one (expect at least 6 month). On my airfield a '83 201 with midtime engine and good King avionics (including weather radar) was sold for 63K, and another '87 201 with 2000hrs TT and runout engine for 65K. For 120K you can get a '88 252 with new engine. Parkers Mooney is really nice, but you won't get the STCs for free. You will have to pay a couple of AMUs to the STC holder of the G500. -

I would first check the European market, even when you want a N-reg. The market in the US is much bigger, but you will have to spend some extra money: The ferryflight will be between 5-10K and you will have to pay VAT (15-25% depending where you live, even when you keep her N-reg). If you want an EASA registration, it is a good idea to take the inspector with you to the US for the prebuy. The traveling cost will be a couple of AMUs. But you have to make sure that you get STCs for everything that is installed. You'll need a Mode S transponder, 406 Mhz ELT and if you want to fly IFR a DME. Many DMEs are not EASA certified (IMHO only the King KN62A-01 or the KN63). The EASA registration will be another couple of AMUs. If you add up all these costs it might be cheaper to buy a Mooney here. It depends on how much you want to spend for a Mooney. You can check the following sites for ads: http://www.planecheck.com/ http://www.aeromarkt.net/ http://www.avbuyer.com/ To compare the US prices you can check http://www.trade-a-plane.com/ http://www.controller.com http://www.aso.com/ There are N-reg in Europe for sale, sometimes with the trust. What model are looking for? -

Financing an N-reg for an alien outside USA
Magnum replied to PapaPapa's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
Hello Pierre, it is possible to finance a N-registered AC in Europe, IMHO several banks in Germany do that. You should ask a company that has experience with that. Aircraft guarantee (www.agcorp.com) is not the cheapest, but has a very good reputation. It is a good idea to get an independent US-PPL or CPL instead of a conversion that is dependent on your European license. If you loose your European license, your European medical or even only your license number changes, the FAA PPL and your IR won't be valid anymore. You will have to do the IR again! Several pilots had that problem when they got the new JAR license. You'll have to fly approx 10 hrs with an instructor and pass the written and pratical test to get a US-PPL if you already have the JAR PPL (shouldn't be a big deal while training for the IR). Or invest a bit more time and get the CPL. BTW: I live in Saarbruecken and fly out of Zweibruecken. There is a N-Reg Piper Warrior available to rent, but I wouldn't use it for IFR. Do you know the actual fuel prices in Luxembourg? -
Here in Germany is a M20L still flying with the original Porsche engine. He was able to get the most important parts (e.g. spark plugs, etc.) directly from the manufacturers and bypassed Porsche. If someone needs the contact I might be able to find him.

a) He has never flown an Acclaim He compares prices between a new and a 7 year old aircraft.

Quote: flight2000 Well, if I find out I'm moving to Italy/Europe in about six months, there'll be a nice E model on the market. Can't stand the thought of her sitting in a cold hanger, pickled for that length of time and I'm too anal to let someone use her for free. Bad enough I'm in Saudi for the next 5 months home for 30 days on mid tour and then back for for the remaining 5 months. I flight plan for 160 kts true and see 10.5 gallons per hour burn at 7,000 ft. Before anyone jumps my case, this was verified via GPS groundspeeds, so my systems are fine and not reading fast... Brian

Installation of M20-Turbos Air-Oil-Seperator M20J
Magnum replied to Magnum's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Quote: Piloto Does the oil return line in your installation go to the rocker cover on the left or right side of the engine? On the left side the oil cooler is in the way? -
Maybe it would be a good idea to have a section here where we can upload these things. OTOH we have to be careful with copyrights...

Installation of M20-Turbos Air-Oil-Seperator M20J

Quote: edgargravel When we overhauled my engine last year, the engine shop guy did not want it reinstalled (at risk of loss of warrantee) unless there was a condensation bowl put in the return line. It works and catches condensate on the way back. The brown stuff in the bowl that we drain during our 25 hour oil changes is actually a mixture of oil and water.
