  1. I own 4 Bose A20's. I tried the A30 on at sun-n-fun and really didn't think they were worth extra price. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to try the Halo but when I decide that it's time for a new headset then I'm always open to the views of the members.
  2. Since your question was posted back in July, Has your friend found the Mooney he was looking for?
  3. I used the epoxy on the outer perimeter. The epoxy can't be applied between the carbon fibers because the epoxy would act like an insulator and the wick would be considered useless. I did this because at the time I could not find the exact replacement as suppliers were "out of stock"
  4. Yes, The carbon core in mine are designed to allow electricity to control the rate of static charge dissipation. If struck by lightning, they provide a path for the massive current to hopefully safety exit the aircrafts structure.
  5. Last time I looked for a replacement they were sold out. I took the broken one and used epoxy and then put shrink wrap around it..still holding after 1 1/2 years!
  6. My Ovation burns about 1 qt every 9 hours. Pleased as it is a high time engine.
  7. I have the flight stream 510 and I appreciate the fact that at home I can file my flight plan from foreflight. I then bring the iPad to the plane and after starting it and turning on the electronics the iPad will transfer the Flight plan to my GTN 750 XI which shares it with the 650 XI. Wireless data transfer, flight plan transfer, data base concierge, entertainment control and phone integration as it works with garmin pilot and foreflight. Anything that helps while flying IFR is a plus.
  8. I have an Ovation which is an M20R. I did notice that on flight aware the designation is M20P. I often wondered why but now I know. Thanks!
  9. Took 5 months to sell. What is your intentions for the upgrade?
  10. I mention it to the line guys at my airport as a refresher. Maintenance should also be reminded because we are all human!
  11. Thank for posting. Hopefully some of us can use it!
  12. I am pleased to hear that your engine started after getting to a lower and warmer height. I haven't practiced an engine out for over a year. I feel I should next time I fly. When I purchased the plane over a year ago the pilot I bought it from said to not pull the gascolator as you could run into problems. One day after flying I pulled it for two seconds or so and realized how much fuel will actually come out. I always have checked the sumps and luckily have not had any indications of water in my M20R yet!
  13. That's the person that I thought would be best to start with. I already asked one Acclaim owner if he would be accept mine in a trade and he responded back after thinking about it that it would be in his best interest to sell his outright and not continue flying.
  14. I purchased mine through a Broker that had it listed from a pilot in FL. The useful load listed is #948. I do have AC and Oxygen. I fly from South Carolina to Massachusetts several times per year. On the east coast, I feel that I don't really need the turbo but If I had it I'm positive that I would appreciate it. I have thought about upgrading to an acclaim but would have to sell mine first. It would be great to be able to trade it in like a car!
  15. Congratulations on your purchase. In the meantime it looks like you can fly in and spend a night in a tent. Cook dinner over the campfire. Does the airpark have restrictions?
  16. Nick, looks like you are really enjoying your Ovation. Congratulations on your purchase. I enjoy how much faster I get from KGGE in SC to 1B9 in MA using my Ovation instead of an arrow lll.
  17. Just saw that you purchased an ovation that you posted on May 8th. I can't believe that no-one has responded. I say that it is awesome that you purchased your first Ovation. I purchased my first last June 2023. I'm enjoying it and hope you are too!
  18. Have you sold the Ovation Yet? I own a '97 and would sell it to acquire yours.
  19. I'll give you $110,000 with my 1997 M20R.
  20. Looking to buy the "Push On Low Boost" for a buddy who has a M20J. Please let me know how I can obtain this from you. Thanks, Den
