  1. BTW, problem solved. Mechanic removed the MP tube (what is the correct term??) and found some debris. Just got back from maintenance flight and all seems to be good now. Thanks All!
  2. @carusoam Yes, this is very true. I'll be taking the Mooney in the next week or two to have avionics installed. I've committed to going the engine monitor route as the next upgrade. I may consult with my CFO (wife) and see if we can squeeze a few more AMUs out of the budget. :-) I really love this plane and really honestly wish I'd joined the Mooney club/cult two airplanes ago.
  3. This is probably the way to go but….. Mine is the MP/FP combo so I’d probably be looking at the CGR-30P Premium. At a “premium” price too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yep I see the weep hole on yours. Mine doesn't have a weep hole that I can see and the MP line isn't the same as yours. On mine, aft of the blue fitting (not sure what it's called) is a small rigid aluminum (I believe aluminum) hose/tube. Like very small. Probably 1/8" or smaller. I added a pic of the one on mine to my original post.
  5. Yeah, when we removed the line it read normal. When we were troubleshooting the baro was 29.99 and when the MP line was disconnected the MP was reading about 29" which I believe would be normal. Reconnect and the MP dropped to about 13" with the RPM around 1800. So hopefully just a clogged line and blowing it out will fix.
  6. Well I don’t like this. My F just came out of annual. Went to fly this morning and in start up the MP was showing 0” at idle. Ran up to 1900 RPM and the MP only came up to about 14”. Ran up to 2300 RPM and only got up to around 19”. When I pulled the throttle back to idle the MP actually went negative. Less than 0”. Mechanic told me that the MP line was loose at one of the fittings so he reflared the line and reattached during annual. What the heck? I’ll upload some pics and a video when I get back to my computer. EDIT - I can't attach a video, but when we removed the MP line from the firewall side it read normal. I'm guessing it's a plugged MP line. EDIT #2 - Adding pics Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Do the maintenance manuals have information on how to do this correctly? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I'm having the Lord engine mount disks replaced at annual. Looking at the two bottom ones, it seems it's way too tight to remove the bolts, not enough clearance. Is there an easy way to remove the bolts from the mounts without having to remove the whole engine mount from the firewall?
  9. Glad I'm not the only one that can taxi to the fuel pumps and still require a hot start. The only procedure I've learned that works is to go mixture ICO, throttle full open, start cranking, slowly reduce throttle. About half way to throttle closed, maybe a bit more it will start to fire. Stop closing throttle and slowly advance mixture.
  10. Yeah, I didn't realize how terrible the picture was until I got home. I'll try to get a better pic(s) later this week and post back here.
  11. I was spending some quality time with my F this week, cleaning the belly. I noticed I have several screws missing from the belly panels. It's a stock Mooney, no speed mods. Anybody know what screws they are and where I can get them? Pic attached but kinda blurry.
  12. I’m curious what would be used to secure the snaps to the floor? I like the idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. BTW where did you get the Mooney logo for your panel? I want to do that on mine! The avionics guy mentioned doing a custom logo so I’m all for it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yeah I thought long and hard about the G5 vs 275 debate. I’ve flown behind the G5s and really like them a lot. The 275s are very nice and the displays are great but for me there’s just too much info. And I wanted to stay on a bit of a budget so I can do the interior next. I’m still debating with myself on what engine monitor but am leaning toward the 275 for that. I will most definitely post the before and afters! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Purchased my '67 F last summer and absolutely love it. Unfortunately it's severely lacking in the modern avionics arena. I've decided on installing a GNC355 GPS, dual G5s, new clock with USB ports and a new metal panel. I'm gonna stick with the flat original design on the panel but I'm still trying to figure out how I want to lay everything out. I've chosen my avionics shop and have the avionics on order. Scheduled for late August, early September. So if you've had a recent panel makeover, can you share some pics of your panel?
  16. No updates since January, I'm wondering if anybody has ordered an Aerocruze 100 for their Mooney yet? Every source seems to be a 6-8 month lead time sadly. Just wondering if anybody has bit the bullet yet and ordered?
  17. I saw his post on FB but I'm wondering if these are for the PowerBoost???
  18. I really appreciate it, but I got a rebuilt one last week,
  19. I really appreciate it, but I already ordered a rebuilt exhaust.
  20. Apparently mine is past overhaul and is being rebuilt. So, I'll have an essentially new exhaust that will hopefully last for years.
  21. Thank you, I will give them a shout.
  22. Yeah, I had PF on my Cherokee 140. Made a big difference there. But I wouldn't think there'd be much difference on the Mooney. Not a few AMUs worth anyway.
  23. Yeah, I'm pretty sure AWI is who the shop sent the exhaust too. At almost 4k, I might be better off to go with a PowerFlow, just don't believe there is that much value.
  24. Anybody have a lead on a new (or like new) exhaust for a Lyc IO-360-A1A? The exhaust in my '67 F is toast and the shop that we sent the exhaust to is recommending a new or rebuilt exhaust. They quoted $3,828 to build a new exhaust using mine as a template. Is that reasonable? Are there other sources for a new exhaust that I should look at? So, I'm looking for a new or mostly new exhaust for my F. Just bought this bird in August and was hoping I could go a year or two without fixing anything big like this.
