  1. I performed the wing level test ( as mentioned in @PT20J’s document) about 1,5 years ago and it flew perfectly straight, even after 10’’. I did however have a passenger in the RH seat when I did this. In the meantime I had an avionics upgrade (lost some weight) and an annual. it is weird how the behaviour of the plane has changed in so little time. No signs of hangar rash... But I’ll have a closer look at the flaps and the underside of the wing.
  2. Interesting ! Was the cover like this due to aerodynamic forces or was it really installed like that ? My plane started to misbehave after an extensive annual...
  3. This is a continuation of a similar topic in the Bravo-section, but that one seems dead. My M20K has a tendency to start and continue a left roll when I let go of the yoke. The yoke stays centered and I have the impression that the ailerons are pretty flush with the wings. The left turn can be prevented with a little right rudder, so I’m looking at the rudder-aileron interconnect. Of course a little right rudder makes for a little skid. Is this fixable ?
  4. Did you find a cause for this problem ? My M20K shows the same behaviour and it looks like it's not aileron-related...
  5. Something like this ?
  6. Agreed. They should make that LED like a master caution light in a Boeing; press it to shut it.
  7. I still have mine in a box somewhere, but thanks anyway !
  8. Very good reference, @carusoam. Much appreciated !
  9. Is that why you kept that analog gauge ? I got rid of it but now I don’t know which alternator is doing what. I selected the “alt 2” option when I ordered my EDM900 but unfortunately, this doesn’t give me a separate readout on the screen. I kinda was hoping for this...
  10. Another EDM900 related question: is there a way to check the second alternator ? I only have single amps & voltage indication on my screen. I know I have two shunts and I did order the AMP 2. Does it only show when it kicks in ? How do I know whether ALT 1 or ALT 2 is online ?
  11. Good to know I fall within the +2% limit. I maxed at 2720 RPM on takeoff
  12. Mooneyspace is priceless. I can’t say that enough...
  13. Today I had a massive trail of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust after landing. So clearly I'm burning oil iso AVGAS. Is this a known issue with the M20K ? Oh yeah, I grounded myself 'till I get feedback from the maintenance guys
  14. Yes, exactly. So engine -and propwise nothing has changed.
  15. Correct. And the POH even talks about whole inches, not even tenths.
  16. It is clear to me that this is a common event for most people with an EDM900. @carusoam your explanation pretty much coincides with what I was thinking. It is a good idea to already have a look at the engine data. I just changed the recording interval to 1 sec, so I’ll make some additional flights first.
  17. Pretty much the essence of the situation
  18. But does it ? The engine and prop are doing exactly the same as before, only the analog gauges never picked up on it.
  19. OK thank you all. And what concerns you more: RPM or MAP ? In my case it's a TSIO360MB that redlines at 36/2700.
  20. I now have an EDM900. It’s brilliant ! However, it is so sensitive that during tkof roll MAP and RPM go in the red zone. Not by much; .3 inch and 20 rpm or so. Are there other people with the same issue ? Do you disregard it or do you fiddle with the parameters during tkof roll ? I intend to fiddle, but it takes too much of my attention at a critical time. Opinions ?
  21. There is something about those flights to Honolulu...
  22. @Microkit are you applying for EASA-approval as well ?
  23. Almost nobody has FIKI in Europe and yet we fly IFR all seasons. You have a turbocharger and a hot prop, which is all you could want. Except when you really need to commute on a fixed schedule of course. UK-southern France is pretty routine, except for the high terrain at the end.
  24. What will be your mission profile over here ?
  25. That is pretty steep, cctsurf. I’m pretty sure I can find a more sensible quote than that one. I can run some simulations if you tell me which city to ship to.
